I think the current people workin on VHMV realize this. The game development started a LONG-ASS time ago and with hindsight and a smaller, tighter team, there's an understanding of what mistakes were made in the past. But, it will ultimately never be 'finished'.

I had it, but I'm waiting for them to release a new version. You can find their discord, if you want to check. The last versions are from 14/08/23 for the classic version, and from 30/07/23 for the MV remake.

Did you pay the madam ? You don't have to, that saves quite a bit of time grinding. Maybe reload a save if you have one ?
Normally if you succeed in every quest and don't buy items you should have just enough to finish the game.

Virgin run was easy imo. Focus on combat routines, and grind out the repeatable battles. story is locked behind certain walls. Getting molested doesnt't break purity. IMO just do a regular run, then do it again with the cheat starter gem. Otherwise just cheat mod the money in.

Issue with pure virgin run was the fact there is a lot of grind without variety.

I thought you always get 'unicorn's tear' or whatever it is called when ya beat the game. Maybe that is also only for doing a virgin run?

VP is far too focused. It's so on rails that it's essentially a visual novel with simple combat segments and a mockup of a character sheet that doesn't actually mean anything.

That's one of the reasons why I like VH more. The other is that Nanako is more developed. So to speak.

VP should have a free mode with some sandbox stuff. It's a shame that Serena's corruption is directly connected to the plot and you can't corrupt her earlier than plot events.
