I see the patreon has '0.5.31v2 Preview Remake Release' out. What's new in it? I may subscribe.
It's a relatively small update tbh - I wouldn't subscribe just for that as you will likely be disappointed but if you do subscribe you will at least get to vote on the Platinum Reward

Huh? This is a really dumb comment for like... a lot of reasons. First off I never said it didn't increase so it's entirely pointless to point it out and quote me. But lets say you're just refuting my "slow updates cause people to NOT give money" comment - then we're still back to square one because that doesn't refute that either. Objectively a lower subscription price or better updates would have MORE people giving money. I didn't say it would result in MORE money. The trick here is to find the balance between price and amount of content to milk the series as long as possible and maximize profit off the work and time. I don't think he's there personally and this graph doesn't disprove that as it's pretty difficult to prove either way without A. analysis beyond what any of us have the data to do or B. doing it and seeing if anything changes. This isn't even factoring into opportunity cost long-term. If you put out quality chunky updates you might gain subscribers for life or you may end up on the opposite side of that spectrum where people won't even bother to subscribe to any of your future work.

So I guess what I'm saying is... what even was the point of your comment? I'd be happy to have a discussion I just need something a little more coherent and less strawman-y.
There's rarely a one-size-fits-all solution. Too expensive and fewer people subscribe... too cheap and I can't sustain development. Same goes for length of each update.

For now I'll keep this model because both supporters and I get to see regular progress of the story.

One big advantage is that it's a more manageable scope with less estimation error. It's actually really hard to estimate long updates and it always leads to inevitable crunch periods before release.

I used to do massive 35-45k words releases. Larger updates are more fun as you can go through a complete story arc and you can build stronger anticipation/excitement. However, you can also risk building in the wrong direction for months and that sucks. The party content from OG is a clear example of this, I had to re-do a lot of that post-release and it still had issues :HideThePain:

I'm trying to overcome the story arc issue of shorter releases by planning the content a bit better. Not too different from how you would plan a TV series with weekly releases for the Season.

Not sure if this idea will work for ever but I've never had as many supporters as I do now under this model and game quality is at its peak imo with still more room to grow.

I think it entirely depends if you as the dev or your subs are unhappy with the update.
In my personal opinion you should create a story that you like and want to tell.

To be fair, most just complain not due to their unhappiness with how the plot or things are going with each update release, but more so just want to get back where the non remaked version left off.

That's a fair point as well.

However my point still stands, looks like the dev was unhappy with it and wanted to rewrite it as you basically confirmed it.

Mega

new version, just because this dev is a liar, scammer
Lmao "scammer and liar" :LUL:

My evil empire of scams and lies by putting out regular updates and releasing them for free after a couple of weeks is truly crumbling.

If you're gonna leak it at least do it like a normal person. Game gets leaked within an hour of every release anyway... this isn't the gotcha moment you think it is.

The story really has to be dev driven. I'm more than happy to listen to feedback and change some aspects of it but I think everyone can agree if a dev starts listening to players and drifting away from the original vision then the game loses that magic that also made it special for the ones that actually enjoyed it.

Yeah, u were sitting on an update for 8 months, while telling us that you have to remake the whole stuff. While you did nothing for 8 months, and giving us an ,,update" every 2 week. Oh,you can't even keep your promise, and can't give out updates every 2 weeks :D pathetic
Imagine how naive I was when I thought that in six months the developer would release a full remake / remaster. :KEK: :FacePalm:
I think we'll get to where the original left off by about the end of the year.o_O

Don't let people like that get to you. I think you're turning this game into something nice, step-by-step. Keep it up, Tori! (y)

Get back to your work. We got heroes excited to leak. :sneaky:

You took your sweet time, and in fact are one of the slowest leakers in existence. You barely did a dent on his wallet.
He'll do better next time.

It would lose its magic because the content before the remake was great. If you stray from what was great, you have to surpass what was before, and to surpass it, it's easier to add content on top of what has already been done and not change the story you're following. That last scene of Terrence seeing her naked could have been done better if he had him looking at her with the door ajar, but it's already over. The content of the clothes change at the mall should have more content too, because it loses its charm by only seeing her head outside the booth and without images of Ari and Terrence entering the booth and playing with her body... only text, and there's a lot of text, it gets boring.

Agreed. The developer should hire an editor to trim at least 50% of the filler and rambling. There's too much overly elaborate text that adds little value.

That's the issue that separates bad writers from good writers. Good writing keeps moving and engaging. Here, we get 100+ phrases how heroine eyes looked up at "your" small dick and both giggled in a single scene........ Instead of 1 scene about the same, you could write 3 full scenes instead by that time.
Game is already around 100k words and it just an halfway done intro... You play what supposed to be a decent amount of game and... nothing happens.
Maybe it is a fear to unlock that cucking content and actually deliver... Maybe dev fears people will lose interest after that idk
