Einin was supposed to be a follower but things happened...

To add to this, the companions were meant to represent every class. Cait was for Clerics and White Mages, Berwyn was for Black Mages, Brint was for Warriors, with some overlap like Arona and Kiyoko, but you get the idea. Thieves are the only class that lacks a companion, as Einen was meant to be the companion representing that class. They couldn't even be assed to just upgrade that moth girl in the Harvest Valley from NPC to companion. Just leave that slot completely open like a gaping wound.

.... Alright, in my defense, it's been a good three years since I last interacted with her since she's been all but abandoned. Though she is a thief and uses thief skills in combat. I guess Savin was aiming more for a highway bandit than a sneaking rouge with her.

A completely preventable state given that his writer still wanted to write for him and it wasn't until after WC when Kiyoko was allowed to have a voice again.

B probably was wanting to wash his hands of Berwyn and just go screw around with his own OCs. The whole situation felt like a lotta work for little actual gain.

That was William not making the deadline. Which, given how mediocre the companions that made the deadline ended up being, wasn't such a bright idea anyways. Still, there's no proof William would have ever been prepared.

Never really had tears to shed for Einin.

Though the biggest blow of losing Will from these games (which I'm glad he finally chose his own health first) is that between Fen and Savin there's never going to be another good blowjob again.
Savin tried to capture the energy with Serena having a lot of the same beats as Will's Etheryn scene. But ultimately, especially with how mild the tongueplay descriptors were, it's simply not the same.

Not gonna start naming names so soon after a nice modding, but until they start the dreaded "reboot the entire game from scratch" routine that some VERY popular games on this site have done, they're still above water imo.

I wouldnt say that, you're at least guaranteed 2-3 updates per month as well as public builds and there's a little bit of something for everybody in terms of fetishes. Whilst William, not releasing his companion is unfortunate I guarantee just from the little snips of the character she wouldve been very unpopular in this thread due to the rape scenes and slut training with Cait which was planned for her character.

If you want to see a golden example of terrible game dev/team you can skim through the popular section of this site and see how scammy/toxic some devs can be.

Can't say I disagree with this. Even if we limit it to text based games there's a lot that just die, provide insufficient funds and are abandoned, the author gets tired, etc etc. I at least see CoC2 making it across the finish line... one way or another.
TiTS is in its final arc so, by virtue of not having far to go, it's going to make it to its hump as well.

Still, even if I generally agree, this should probably be stated that the vast majority of those dead or dying games didn't have a platform to advertise with alongside what was, at a point in time, the 4th biggest porn game on patreon. A solo developer still making 300 a month after 5 months of grinding it out is at a bit of a disadvantage.

To this day I don't understand the attempt. Even had she been finished, I believe William overestimated his skills to merge two aspects of things usually diametrically opposed into one character. Many have tried and just as many have failed. Unless you're slinging with the skills of siddha patiya pandita that's a hard fight to fight.

I feel Coc2 and Tits survive through inertia. They exist at that point where they have been active long enough to amass enough fans that they don't need to rush as funds are not an issue, so they don't. In a way, any other game with the same themes and in the same genre could take the spotlight but the thing is, no one else is doing it, as there's no reason to do it

It does happen with other games being rebooted eternally, there's a joke in other game where there are some graves and one of them is for the red room, but it's empty because, "It was resurrected again"

Coc2 instead just won't die and be born again, there's no need to reboot anything because as jumbled and slow it is being developed, it's still being developed. All these problems about companions having little content, or things being cut and butchered along the way or pushing for more padded content that some wealthy mysterious contributor paid for, well they are tolerated and almost expected. From time to time there's something good, but mostly, both Fen and Savin are limping to the finish line and instead of a last, heroic effort, are stopping every five seconds to talk about some senseless shit no one cares about and now to promote dildos. They can do it because they are running against no one, they win by default

Yeah, she was suppose to have a route where she become fuckbuddies with Cait if I recall correctly. Oh but you see it was "optional" the same way pairing all the other couples are "optional". I.E. most of the meat of the character was behind this route.

Say, to guys who were knee deep recording all of this when it went down, was it true that Will had basically written all of Einin except the parts where she was with the champ? I remember that little rumor making the rounds of /cocg/ back in the day.

One thing that always irked me about Will was how he'd go and promote his characters with comissioned art and hype and then just never delivered. That's really the part that makes it hard for me to fully act like Will was an innocent victim of Savin like some people say. Look. I know he really struggled with some things and he was pretty aware of his poor work ethic. But it did sort of feel scummy in a way.

I mean now look, how much art is there floating around of Bianca and Leila as if they're fully in the game? I know Bianca was a big reason why I even came back to TiTs after playing it five years ago, and now if we're lucky she's going to be given a half assed "expansion" and then have "complete" slapped on her. That's the best case scernario right now.

Oh well... Guess Will's characters will become like Excellia was to CoC....

It's a bit more nuanced then that. Will had "help" on a miscellaneous amount of scenes. He did write the whisper scene. But, most of the work being done to try and cram into the deadline was directly player facing. But because the work Will gave himself was a bit impossible in the time he allotted himself, I don't believe he ever got to the champ one-on-one sex scenes.

It's the annual reminder (I hate being reasonable) that just because you and I have grievances, that does not mean that our complaints are any more valid than other peoples opinion. CoC2 updates frequently (except last month, heh.), with a wide range of content, and the fetishes it does cater to are in abundance. Nobody is getting ripped off supporting this game.

This isn't LT we're talking about where Inno's update about releasing the update would be released this weekend... three months ago.
