Pretty interesting that the community is still updating this after 6+ years. I wonder if they've addressed the bad grind, bad censored images, or tedious UI yet?

And the game was old even when the tread started.

Since the game takes place in 2010 is it safe to assume that is when the development started?

No, leave heads and body as they were, relative to each other (so the game doesn't complain). Some other mod is conflicting. I leave heads and body at the very bottom. (highest number)

The description of the mods should say which order is correct, but it also states that it should come after (higher numeric priority) most of the other mods.

It's an alright game but honestly I wish in the phone notes that it'd give you suggestions on what to do with students with the ! mark.

It's just a lot of fumbling around and clicking randomly to figure out what to do. I'll keep playing a little longer to see how much more I can possibly discover. Although I did spend I feel like too many hours just figuring things out, lol.

that actually does exist, but you have to get them involved with something before it'll tell you what. if you open the phone and view main journal, you can get clues on either how to progress a club or individual people's quest.

the walkthrough on the first page is also a great resource if you want a more spoilered, but laid out guide. I used that to start mosts quests, then the phone to continue them. be aware though that there are choices that can 'dead end' quests, so I would recommend the walkthrough if you want to see everything.

Want to be excited.. The first HHS was wonderfully addictive. So were those that followed. And I grinded this one a bit across versions, though its certainly a grind. But at some point it seems the only updates were (and seemingly still are) under the hood, the stuff that viewers don't really get to see. And in their forums the moderators (or maybe devs) were very... They really made any fans asking about the game feeling like oliver twist. 'please sir, may we have an idea of when you may have an update?' 'how dare!!'. Meh. still for nostalgia I'd be curious to try an update... but looking through the changelog, its again the same game as before, just some stuff devs did under the hood for devs. And though I'm a coder, I'm not really into code-porn.
We are getting close to being able to actually shift gears(at least for some of us), to switch over to working on events primarily. The big hurdle at the moment is needing to finish reworking how class experience works(which is mostly done) and adding proper basic A.I. instead of randomly walking around which will allow new stuff to be added.

For example, I have a Police Update that would make them actually functional... but I need the A.I. update to not have them be sitting ducks. This recent update brought about an entire rework to how the Sports Clubs function in the game, aka instead of just being a money sink you can get reputation from it in competitions. They also finally added the Pregnancy mod to the base game so now you can actually get pregnant and get others pregnant.

There is more in the works from a variety of people, Bells update from Malorn, Barteke is or at least was playing around with a shader and paperdoll update, etc. I am personally working on a multitude of updates, from adding a chem teach and making upgrades actually have some weight beyond the payment to adding Kinknet which would consolidate the stuff for online chains into one area, at least to a degree, making the Cabaret Bar actually somewhat functional, etc.

We are working on the Grind, Chemistry I know has been made a lot better, the A.I. update will allow NPCs to trigger off-screen events to influence themselves, and skills have been merged into stats. Work on classes is happening but wasn't ready for this release. Censored images is something we're trying to minimize or at least avoid the worst ones, but unless someone is willing to go through and decensor... well it's the issue of Japan and Asian countries having pornography censored so that'll be a permanent issue. The U.I. depends on which part, the School management hasn't had much changed yet (other than Cover letters added for some), but the stat pages has been changed and has two alternate versions.

Out of curiosity, since I once again stumbled upon this when reading the intro:
The basic setting is that we're hired because none of the previous principals lasted long, and the school is constantly underperforming.
Is it planned to expand on that in the future? Because to me it seems that currently that part of the backstory could be cut entirely and we wouldn't lose much, since in my experience it's be pretty easy to increase the students' stats and keep reputation up. I can only imagine that it would be even easier if one didn't try to corrupt the school, since most of my reputation issues stem from keeping lewd policies up, or events with thoroughly corrupted students in public.
Maybe money is the issue in an uncorrupted school? I don't remember how much cashflow comes from the webcams and lewd clubs.

Nah, there just aren't that much. There's The Headmaster, but that one's more a VN with sandbox aspects, with a story and limited cast. Still unfinished.
There's Corrupted Academy, but it's more obvious corruption and AFAIK still relatively early in development.
Also Academy: Live!, but that's also more story-oriented and also pretty early in dev.

None of them come really close to what makes HHS+ great.
A little other settings, but maybe you will like too: Lab Rats2 Reformulate. You can download newest version from their git.

Not yet. There are rough ideas in my mind about events that are exclusive to certain goals and help develop the school more towards it, but I am still too busy on the engine side to really get into events. And I prefer to hold off on the bigger stuff until the "A.I." Activity rework that Masquerader mentioned gets implemented, because it can significantly affect the entire gameplay loop and how we write events.

In case anyone is interested, I once spent some time to make a mind map of some ideas I had for some of the game's systems.

That all sounds great, but there are a few other areas where I think the game could see significant improvement IMHO. Some kind of in-game hint/quest system would be a godsend. Removing as many "random chance(X)" checks at the start of events so they always trigger if you are in the right place at the right time with the right stats while the necessary character with the necessary stats is also present would also be a massive improvement. Cutting artificial delays down to no more than 1 day at a time would also be greatly appreciated. This game is big enough that it doesn't need nearly as much artificial padding as it currently has.

on another note, does the .zip take 60+ minutes to unzip for anyone else?
Disk roughly full (delete some not used files, disk have to have less than 90% used space), ram roughly full (restart pc and just start the unzip) or ... You may have some malware :( that keep your pc busy
Anyway, no, it feels not normal at all.

The journal is sort of meant to be the first one but is more or less an issue of 'because it's meant to be written by the PC, have to have it feel like the PC wrote it' so think of that as an eternal WIP as we figure out how to execute that one properly. The random chance is something we're moving away from for sure (I am at least), but some events that use it likely do so because the A.I./scheduling currently for NPCs might as well be braindead unless it's a class or sleeping, so outside of those two the game is literally just kidnapping the NPCs from wherever they actually are and placing them where you need them because right now they just literally won't/can't be directed to those areas(aka I why I keep calling it an A.I. update, it's not quite A.I. of a game from AAA devs, but they'll actually be doing stuff and not just mindlessly walking around). Likely with the update some of those will go away because then you would just have to be in the right place at the right time, right now it's "you're there, they aren't" kind of deal.

The artificial delays are more complicated, which ones are you saying are artificial? Genuinely, because some are being designed with those in mind. My upgrade update would have delays to sort of show that the school is that run down that these rooms shut down were still shut down for a reason so it's artificial in that technically doesn't have to happen, but story-wise it makes the whole thing make more sense. Not saying none of the padding can't be removed, but rather tell us what is being padded and we can try to adjust if we agree(since I'm not the only one working on this I can't just say 'yes it will be fixed'), a lot of these events have had at best one or two touch-ups since they were added, and could simply be a reflection of when less content existed.
