I know there's been a lot of talk about factions earlier, but I still don't quite get it. How does one take over a faction? Can you become the leader of say Kymanto? For the religious factions, do you have to be the same faith to take them over? And afterwards you can switch?

If you don't take it over as leader, is there no reason to donate to them? Does raising your standing do anything?
Certain factions can be owned at 100 Standing. Certain, not all. Some factions are hard-capped at certain standing levels (70, 80, and 90) because they do not want you to take ownership of their faction. House Carozza for example won't let some outsider just own them because he donated a lot of guns.

Factions you can own:
  • Fort Sera, from the quest that automatically triggers via mail when you reach 4k influence; called Marston fort in the Business income screen
  • Warrior's Hall (Aesir temple), called Odensborg in the Business income screen
  • The Holy Virgin (Catholic church)
  • Fenrik's Tavern (The bandits in the underworld, listen to random rumors in Furry's Tavern); donating auto rifles or coilgun (coilgun is inefficient) here lowers city control per donate action and they give income at 100 standing, not before.
Factions that give you income but you cannot technically own because your standing is capped:
  • The Great Mosque (The Caliphate/Muslims)
  • House Carozza
  • Hamilton Town Square/Fort Hamilton (The Republic) - donating rifles and auto rifles in Fort Hamilton increase city control by 1 per donate action
You will know when the standing is capped because the Standing number value displayed goes red.

Religions can be picky, yes. The Muslims probably not as much. As long as your standing is higher than 100 (was it 108? Just get to 150 Standing to be perfectly safe), you can switch religions and still retain control of the other religion. Switching religions lower your standing by like 8 or something. As long as your standing is 100+ in the end, you still own it.

Any faction not listed here, do not bother. I would not even bother with some factions listed here to be honest.
alternating between kissing and licking pussy
Body Kissing? I do not think cunnilingus raises kissing skill but I could be wrong. I spammed kissing and body kissing for mine.
If you sell Aria, do you ever see her again? Like doing her service to the Spheremasters? I wouldn't continue with that run, but would be cool to see it before reloading.
That plotline is underdeveloped. Grim is going to go back to develop that later as far as I know.
Sure as hell would make more sense than raising int by talking to your wife or some shit lol.
I do not know about you but I am eternally grateful to my wife, Academics Lecturer Caitlin
Btw, when does Clea show up? Do I have to start new world order quest or something?
When the Aria second major questline has progressed enough. She will save you from an ambush and the ambush is practically unmissable. The only way to avoid the ambush is if you know what you are doing and are purposely doing it to avoid getting Clea.

She should also automatically pop up if you sell Aria instead to Kymanto.

You can even complete the entire Aria second questline while avoiding the ambush and the ambush will still show up.

How do I make this happen? I've tried to push her to her limits but it doesn't seem to change anything, any suggestions?

No. I'm talking about the kissing option right under caress during seduction. I did finally get a kissing skill increase for MC doing that but the chance must be significantly lower than 1% unless I've just been really unlucky with it, and it doesn't actually give you any message about a kissing skill check but it's pretty common for that option to give kissing skill increases to the girls. The request sex/makeout option does mention a kissing skill check and that one seems to give MC kissing skill more often for me, but it's stil pretty rare.

She shows up immediately after you tell Aria that you'll help her with the rebellion, as soon as you leave the house in an unmissable encounter.

I was curious about enslavement chances so I dug through the code and found this. Sharing it in case anyone else finds it helpful
Edit: Note that this is the calculation for enslavement through dialog. There are special story cases where you can enslave NPCs without this logic
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I translated this to make it a bit more readable:

Most interesting takeaway for me at least is that bribes don't seem to do all that much in the grand scheme of things. You're probably better off working on one of the other stats unless you just can't succeed without the extra +10/20/30

From what I've noticed, some of the NPCs that you can enslave are difficult enough that it's literally impossible unless they're at undying affection, zero or less willpower, you bribe them, and MC has more than 150 manipulate skill. Most of them aren't THAT hard, but Dexter and anyone with a salary greater than his are extremely difficult. Even if you start with manipulate beyond the training caps (like 150+) so you can pump it up beyond 200, some of them I still couldn't enslave without at least a small bribe. I think with it that high I managed all of them without having to do the big bribe on anyone though (except maybe Milou and Felix, didn't know they were even possible since they're paragons but rumor is they are).

Some of the mercs and servants can be enslaved at just loving affection and without knocking their willpower down first, but I think enslavement has been made more difficult than it used to be in recent versions. I used to be able to enslave everyone with a salary less than Dexter's without messing with their willpower.

I figured I would share what variables I've found and scripts I've made. I know there are already a couple posts with this stuff but I'm fairly certain I've covered some stuff they've missed.
Do you know hot to set the mc traits ?

Body kissing also has a chance to increase mc kissing skill. I usually alternate between them once alternating between caress/kiss no longer gives an increase to charm.

Minor nitpick: Aria and Arizona actually enter your household as slaves (Assuming you actually pursue trying to buy Aria and then subdue Arizona), but can be freed to assume Paragon status. You can't re-enslave them though.

Hamilton Town Square/Fort Hamilton (The Republic) - donating rifles and auto rifles in Fort Hamilton increase city control by 1 per donate action
I ´m quoting this to remark it, and avoid that the point will be missed in the rest of Clemency very informative post.

This point it´s really interesting, and I have missed in my games. I always have wondered what it´s the difference between donate in the Town Hall and donate in Fort Hamilton, and here it is. Usually increasing city control it´s not a big deal or something that it´s actively pursuit, but can be really important to face the Dengi invasion.

City control 90 add a +20 to the value of Dengi depletion. In my last run, that have been going from 50-55 Dengi per turn to 70-75 Dengi per turn. A 40% increase it´s something major and can make a lot of difference, and I have been struggling to reach it (when the Dengi invasion started I was int the high 80s, and reach 90 in the first/second week of the invasion)

Yes and no. I have no idea if setting MC traits during an ongoing game has any effect. For example:
Giving yourself the Z-mark perk after starting a game does not increase strength, dex, stamina or melee like it does when selecting it during character creation. I don't know about other effects.
Traits that just give stuff like money or items also don't have any actual variables to set that I can find, which makes sense.

I can give you what trait variable names I've found, but I have absolutely no idea if any of them work when added after character creation.

My usual method when cheating traits/perks is giving myself more points during character creation so I can pick any perks I want then, where I know they work.
I added instructions on how to do this to my post. I'll add the MC traits I found too with a big disclaimer about them maybe not working.

This does work pretty well, however it includes some scripted NPCs that I've never added to my house (Enya, for example). I'm guessing those are ones I've come 'close' enough to that it triggers their stat creation.

Certain beats manually copying everything out of the game - thank you!
I put up a new version that only takes the ones in your house, I think. Try the new one under assorted scripts.

What is Ansel good for? Doyle is a much better barkeep, so I really can't think of anything other than janitor lol. Maybe scavanger, but his stats are just awful.

Scavenger is a fairly rare trait, and takes a long time to train. Training Survival up to 60 is much faster. He's low on INT too, but that's a minor penalty. Sounds like Scavenging will get more dangerous in the coming updates, so his mediocre combat skills are probably useful as well.

If you do the tutorial quest, you gain access to Mae, who's unique. That alone makes it worth hiring him initially.

Beyond that, Scavenger probably. Int is much easier to train now.

He's also near enough the 3rd best option for Barkeeper if you just so happen to run 2 taverns, like I tend to do.

Who are the first two? Doyle and...?
