Does the "oldworkshop = true" command work? I've tried to use it but my cap is still 7. Turning it on and off does not work either.

The annex gives you more NPC "pages", meaning you can store more npcs in your household.
It also gives a passive +4 happiness and +2 affection every day to the people sleeping there when fully built.
As I said, I start banging my head against the keyboard....

The Automod fooled me. It don´t show the increase of space of the annex (I suppose that because it have not been updated yet) so I started to look for something to do...

I´m so used to this mod that sometimes I forget that it´s not an original part of the game..

If you turn off "old menu arrows" in the settings, you'll be able to see what I mean by more NPC "pages".

I think you can also send people from Fort Sera once you've taken control of it.

And if you don't know what Fort Sera is, you're (IMO) too early to be buying the lumber mill.

If you have Fort Serra you can send soldiers from them. Mind you, you don´t need a big amount, half a dozen would do the trick. In my current run I bought the mill early, so I don´t have for Serra yet, so I send some random female slaves that I have captured.

Nanny discussion:
  • Nannies will always contribute the same amount of points, but will only do so 50% of the time if they have a job
Point contributions (stacking)
StatThreshold 1Threshold 2Penalty Threshold
Combat School (war)60 melee/ranged for +390 melee/ranged for +2<25 melee/ranged for -1
Physical Training (phys)60 str/dex for +390 str/dex for +2<25 dex for -1 *
Corruption (cor)60 corruption for +3<25 corruption/Pure for -1
Free Thinking (will)60 willpower for +3<25 w.p./Submissive for -1
Discipline (dis)60 discipline for +3<25 discipline for -1
Mental Training (int)60 int for +390 int for +2<25 int for -1
Education (edu)60 academics/tech for +390 academics/tech for +2<25 academics/tech for -1
Adventures (sur)60 survival for +390 survival for +2<25 survival

* probably bugged - code checks "dex <= 24 or dex <= 24"; so having low strength doesn't matter, even though it probably is supposed to

These boosts are fighting against a decrease of 1 per turn per kid.

On child creation, these nursery points are converted into the points for character creation:
  • War points are multiplied by 1.2
  • Phys points are multiplied by 1.5
  • Education points are multiplied by 1.5
  • All other points are kept as-is
The rest of the point-buy is all basically what it says on the tin. The only other thing I'll note is how corruption perks work.

Your kid's base corruption is directly set equal to your nursery's corruption points / 2. Then, if that's over 40, they roll to gain each of the following traits: Perverted, Nymphomaniac, Oral Fixation, Daddy Issues. Specifically, they have a 1/2 chance to skip each trait, a 1/4 chance to get a head start on earning each trait (50/100 progress points), and a 1/4 chance of fully earning the trait.

As others have said, the easiest way is doing the Fort Sera questline in the marsh.
You can drop off any captured slave (before adding them to household) without hassle and then transfer them to your properties as guards, IIRC you need around 75 soldiers in Fort Sera before this is possible, plus it's really beneficial to have that Fort anyway.

I have a question regarding the nanny system. If I use the setting that speeds up the kids growth am I nerfing their stats? Should I just wait for them to age out normally?

Your nursery stats are only considered at the moment your kid finishes growing up. As long as your total accumulated points are maxed out, you can accelerate their growth as much as you want.

I wonder how many people still has two workshops and how many demolished the second one to make room for the Annex in their yard after Aria's second long questline is complete.

Unless they no longer want a Training Dojo I guess. The educator job can suffice as substitute for it. Or they demolish the Grove or Stables.
