If you don't want to play the RPGM version you can try the unofficial Renpy version of the game. The content covers until before this update, you can play all the routes and continue later with this update

rpgm games usually dont have skip function and also more grindy usually
renpy is better engine

No, they are entirely different engines with entirely different coding.
