Overview


Upon the mysterious death of your parents, you inherit a rundown house and farm in the quaint yet deceptive town of Canbe Valley. As you explore this seemingly prosperous town, you’ll uncover a world rife with corruption and deceit lurking behind every corner.

In Sinful Valley, a realm that pretends to be fair and just, you’ll discover the harsh reality of underground prostitution, brothels, and slavery. Explore an immersive narrative filled with beautiful girls, each with unique personalities and backstories, and engage in plenty of uncensored lewd scenes.

The Gameplay:

In Sinful Valley you play a male protagonist who you can name yourself. Content is usually experienced from the first-person perspective but will shift to the third-person for specific scenes that benefit from such angles. You will be able to explore the town of Canbe Valley freely with more locations unlocking as the narrative progresses and you make progress along each character's own side stories, along with this you'll also be able to unlock extra places of interest when you successfully train a girl to a high enough level in certain stats.

As the game attempts to replicate an open world in Visual Novel form, you will have access to a town map that allows you to fast-travel to any unlocked locations, as well as see plenty of others you will eventually unlock. The type of modular setup I'm hoping to achieve will allow for the game to be expanded with relative ease, so locations, characters, interactions, quests, etc can all be incorporated without the need to change what's already implemented.

Character Line-Up:

At launch, Sinful Valley will have a lineup of THREE main characters. From left to right: Josie Lodge, Alice Grey, and Claire Rosefield. Each girl has their own traits which dictate what they are more open to and what they're less willing to do, despite these all girls will be able to do everything eventually once they've been fully trained. Alongside the main girls, there will be a selection of side girls which has yet to be decided upon, polls and suggestions will be over on Reddit (at u/RumiGames).

Another aspect of note is that although Sinful Valley is a trainer it is also a dating simulator so as the story inevitably reaches it's conclusion you will have the option to go down exclusive routes with each character or stick to the harum route the trainer is likely to lead you towards. There will also be choices during the story that may lead to girls being angry towards you and therefore unavailable to train, therefore you best make your choices wisely!

Release Date:

Currently, Sinful Valley is scheduled for an October (likely nearer the end of the month) release which will include most of the first few sections, areas, and character interactions. I'm also aiming to have AT LEAST one full scene for each main girl, side girls are yet to be properly fleshed out and will almost certainly be pushed to later releases/updates.

How detailed are you going to make this? There's trainers which are honestly cosmetic and those that are quite in depth, same with dating simulators, you could cite you're inspired by and plan on using, or a general framework is fine

I get how upsetting a character would block romance options, but it doesn't seem like it should matter as much, or maybe even at all, for a training route

Good luck on your game
The plan is to have something in a similar vein to Harem Hotel so each character will have a range of stats that affect what they will and won't do. Each character will also be more open to different things making it easier to train them in some areas but more difficult in others.

Same idea for the extra unlockable scenes, some characters will have extra scenes that can only be unlocked by getting a stat to a high enough level.

Ah, I feel like I worded it poorly here, you won't be entirely locked out of training a character until right at the story's conclusion as I plan on allowing the player to choose different endings/routes for the final act.

In terms of angering a character, it won't completely block you from training them but will act as a roadblock to doing so. For example, if you side with one character in an argument the other is likely to be less receptive to your training (maybe you'll be able to give them a gift to help subside their anger?).

Location Progress Update

It's been a few weeks since the last update on here but progress hasn't slowed and today I'll be sharing a couple of updates on the farmstead location within Sinful Valley.

The Farmstead:

The farmstead is a location formerly owned by your deceased parents and has since been willed to you. It was your childhood home and has unfortunately fallen into disrepair in the years since you've been in Kanko City. I've attempted to showcase the change with rubble, do not enter signs, and plenty of other props.

The former still requires a few more touch-ups, including some more animals, to make it feel like a truly functioning farmstead while the other is practically finished with only some more debris needing to be played nearer the windmill.

Progress Update

Another few weeks have flown by, so it's high time I updated this thread with all the new additions to Sinful Valley's development. There's a lot to cover so strap in for a long read.
Locations:

As the last update was about new locations let's start there for some continuity. A bunch of new locations have been added ranging from the Bedroom to the Bookstore; there are 3 major locations, so far, that the player will be able to travel back and forth to: the Bedroom, the Shops, and the Park. Each one offers interactions with characters, some exposition about the town, and ways to move the story forward. Some will even contain sublocations, such as the Bookstore found at the Shops.


As you might be able to tell from the reference images, each location currently has 3 different time variations, day, evening, and night, which means different events will only occur at the allocated time. You won't be able to find Claire working in the Bookstore if you go at night. I'm currently in the process of deciding if I want to split day into two different states, morning & afternoon.

Systems:

The first system I want to discuss is the day/night cycle, which I briefly discussed in the previous section, as the logic has been fully implemented for this. Each location has 3 states and these can be switched between when the player sleeps; although the logic is implemented the UI is still only fundamental so improving this is a priority in the upcoming days.

The other two systems are intertwined, map & quest. I'm very happy with how the map system has turned out, the player is able to view the map by leaving any location and can then select a location to travel to from there or close the map and return to the previous area.

The way this system has been designed should allow for quick and easy adding/removing of new locations, something that I was intent on making a core aspect of this system from the beginning. Moving on to the quest side of things, a system has been implemented to assign an action and a relevant call to whatever objective the player currently has allowing for simple tracking of the next objective's current state.

Finally, we have the animated interactions system. This is the part of Sinful Valley I'm most happy with so far. It allows characters to have animated states when being spoken to, bringing a feeling of life to the interaction. I can't post an image in this post but I will attach a gif below.

NSFW Scenes:

The third and final section I want to cover in this post is the work on NSFW scenes. Plenty are in development at different completion stages, each one hoping to cover a different fetish. Some that are in the works currently are: Alice footjob, Claire missionary, doggy, and side, Josie & Alice double BJ, Claire handjob, etc.

Many more will come eventually, however, only a couple of highly polished ones will be available upon first release.

Reddit Suspension & NSFW Scenes

A quick post for today, I've been suspended on Reddit for blatantly no reason making this thread my main and only source of promotion. Due to this, I thought I'd attach all the WIP scenes I've shared to Reddit so far to prevent them from ending up in the abyss.

If anyone knows of actions, other than the appeal system, that I can take to get my account reinstated that would be wonderful.

Sinful Valley v0.0.3b Pre-Release

It's been a bit since I updated this thread, it's not because of halted development or anything. I've actually released 2 new versions (as the title suggests) but haven't had time to really update here along with discord, Patreon, itch, etc.

This new version adds 160 new lines of dialogue, 4 new narrative scenes, Alice's introduction, and a bunch more!

Progress Update 3

When was the last time I wrote one of these here? It's been a while, a lot's changed since the last one.

Locations

Last update on locations we talked about Shops, Bedroom, and the Park. Since then, the College, Canbe Clothing, the Bookstore, and the Hallway have all been added. The Bookstore and the Hallway are sublocations of Shops and the House respectively. Each one is used for different story events, however, currently, all except the Hallway aren't used outside of those story events.

Filling the locations with different side content will be a major development point in the next few updates.

Systems

Where to even begin with the systems? I think last time I was discussing the day/night cycle. That's fully implemented with morning, evening, and night states. Each location follows these states and characters move about according to their set schedules. Animated interactions cause this system a slight issue as the way they work means they include a background in the WebM file, this means I have to have versions of the interaction already set to the specific time.

If I were to re-develop Sinful Valley I'd likely not use animated interactions, except for special instances like NSFW scenes.

The map system I talked about last time has caused me no end of issues because, as it turns out, you can enable skipping with the ctrl key. This completely bypassed my skipping checks and either caused a crash or a return to the menu. I was able to fix this by preventing skipping entirely when viewing the map, however, it's an issue I would have caught sooner if I had been more vigilant. A reminder for next time I suppose.

Another key system I've since implemented is CheckForNewContent, this feature allows players of older versions to access new content without creating another save. It works via a dictionary and current objective check, the first scenes of new content include a variable that is set to true once seen, so if false the script knows there is newly accessible content. I spent quite a bit of time testing this system and it seems pretty robust, the only slight issue being one of the first pre-release versions requires you to play through 2 scenes again before accessing the new content.

Other systems I've since developed include the training menus, stat trackers, dates, naughty scene player, and gallery system.
