The windows version isn't up to date because I don't want to upload 5 different version every week. But you only have to download the win version 1 time and then always swap out the JAR file. And Majalis himself updates it so we can be sure it is working and when not that he fixes that version.
There is a reason why so many people every 2 pages asks about the problem with Java, last year in October or so some time like that, something was changed and since then java doesn't work, but I use the same Win build since then and it works fine.

Java works fine. About half a year ago I updated the game so that Java 8 no longer works, because Java 8 was released during the Eisenhower administration, and that's the one a lot of people have installed on their system. But if people want to run the game with their own Java install instead of the packaged one (so they only need to download the .jar) they are taking it upon themselves to understand how that works. Otherwise just run the executable file.

Renaming the .jar so that the executable no longer works exacerbates this problem, and people installing jython because that one post (that I said would cause confusion at the time) confuses them also contributes to it.

We'll probably be updating it to either Java 16 or 17 at some point, since Java 11 (what it's currently on) is long in the tooth, but we will obviously package the game with it when we do.

I keep occasionally checking here, vainly hoping for some gameplay related discussion.

Instead i developed a PTSD trigger for the word "java".

What? Christ. While I was looking at the Wasp encounter, I saw some of the scenes were a little abrupt, so I expanded them. This isn't even the only one. I got my wisdom tooth removed, and then a complication, so I couldn't finish the bunch of new scenes I wrote for the new Brothel Madam x Gadgeteer encounter that I added last week.

Wasn't complaining, just clarifying what's in there in case people were getting their hopes up from the changelog notes. Like I said, I think we've reached the end of meaningful content updates for the game. Am I wrong? At this point you're just fleshing out the parts that were a bit abrupt, as you said. Looking forward to your next project, but I don't expect major new updates (characters, subplots, etc) to this one. No insult intended as to your efforts to date - I paid to support it during the earlier, content-intense phase and don't regret it.

Well it seems you have no idea what you're talking about. First of all the last poll showed 7 new scenarios to vote on and I doubt that it is all that Majalis has in terms of scenarios. Second they are working on making a complete story for the story mode if thats not "character, subplot, etc" then I don't know what to tell you. And third the weekly change log where always just 1-2 art/animations and parts of new scenes/plots. Lastly Majalis themselves shut you down and you fucking double up on it, how stupid are you. lmao.

How exactly did you get that I'm only fleshing out the parts that are a bit abrupt from that? Seriously. Did you even read the rest of it? I have a large amount of content ready for the next weekly, but I didn't have time to add it to the last one. At the same time, while I was implementing the new Wasp art, I noticed some of the scenes were too skinny, so I fixed that. This is the content-intense phase.

So what's new for the mod with 3.19.3...
* I focused on redoing Hiro's animations to bring them up to date with the new costumes.
* I modded the Kyrila vs Brigand animation which replaced a 2D version.
* I modded the brand new 2D Wasp artwork.
* I modded the Minatauress and Hiro animated scenes.
* I modded the newish Pronebone 2D Hiro artwork.

Getting back into TOA after a somewhat long break and is it just me, or do the more recent scenes (both artwork and text) not acknowledge/check if the player is wearing a chastity cage anymore? Loved how encounters with the Dark Knight in the bar or Trudy at camp would actually have unique lines and embarrass the player about having a chastity cage.

But for example, last night I went through the beauty pageant line with Cait and while the caged artwork appeared, she didn't mention anything about me being caged. And in the second encounter with the Dark Knight in the Mossy Expanse, the uncaged animation plays regardless of the player's equipment, and the text even says that the Dark Knight starts giving me a handjob or jerking me off (something along those lines) even though I'm wearing a pink, girly cage. And my memory's a bit fuzzy, but I don't think the Tentacle Witch even makes any unique references/lines to the player having a cage - she feminizes and calls them a girl no matter what.

Absolutely not a dig at Majallis at all, all the new stuff since last playing is nothing short of high quality, especially for a porn game. And for all I know, I might've just found outlier scenes since I haven't fully seen or read all the new scenes and artwork. Just feels like chastity cage-related stuff is kinda being left in the dust

A lot of the chastity cage stuff was added after the fact - with new encounters I try to keep in mind any time they use Hiro's dick to include chastity/impotent alternates, or lock it behind having a free dick. Sometimes as I'm moving scenes around that creates those phantom cage scenes. The new animations similarly have cage variants from the get-go, and we're adding them to old animations.

I mean, going by itch.io's build history and the growth of the download packages, 2019 was the content-intense phase. By github commits it was 2018, but I gather that's an inaccurate measure in this project's case. Bøb69 you wanna check the activity stats and get back to me? I'll wait.

Eh. I am a developer, I have a fairly good idea of how commits work. And no offense meant to Majalis, it's a good game and I didn't mean to imply otherwise. Just don't try to gaslight me as to all these new large content updates on a project where it's easy to quantify exactly how much of that is going on and when.
