I used the Megadownloader and compared against the same file downloaded from Gofile. Both were broken. I triple checked by re-downloading from Mega. The uploaded file is corrupt.
Considering that no one else is having this problem, I still assume the issue is likely on your end.
In fact, I just downloaded from Gofile, and extracted it with 7Zip, and everything went fine here. So, again, I urge you to use a downloader so it can verify it with the original, and make sure you did not have packet loss or something while downloading.
You might also want to update 7zip, if it is more than 6 months old.

try pixeldrain's and compare hashes if they are still the same use winrar to decompress, I already deleted the zip file so I can't share the hash, maybe someone that download it next may share it

If you are worried about files being tampered with, then go download from itch.io. Sure there is no linux version, but the game files are the same. Download Ren'py, create a linux game and copy in the files from the headmaster.

On a site note, why isn't the headmaster using the "windows+linux" release option? The size increase is nothing compared to the size of the downloads. As I recall, it adds a few MB to the zip.

The itch download "Windows" does come with everything you need to run on linux. You were right about the small size ~31mb

Name: the-headmaster-win.zip
Size: 8072505099 bytes : 7698 MiB
SHA256: 32188fef8b586661c1ea0b8d7f113dc62d60e19ed2ae7ab9c04b2da027ff8b10

Contains the file TheHeadmaster.sh and folder py3-linux-x86_64

It's extra content independent from the main game. You don't need the main game to play the Mykock's Manor episodes.

Mykock's Manor exists as fun form of getting feedback for future content development. It is a questionaire in visual novel form.

Haven't tried this game before (and it will take a while to read 900+ pages of chat) but on downloading 0.16.4.3, on first run I got this:

Any suggestions? I note that the error message says I am running Windows 10 on an AMD 64 but I am running Windows 11 on an Intel i7.

Can confirm that they're not the only one with a header error, and just to be sure I downloaded the game from GoFile six different times, twice each on two separate browsers, and twice through my download manager. All had header errors when I tried to unzip with 7zip (I literally just updated it after seeing your message). Currently downloading from pixeldrain link and from GoFile through the download manager you recommended earlier to see if either fixes the header error message, but both are quite slow, and I've been doing this for like an hour now so I figured I would just get this out there real quick while I wait.

Edit: Now that all the downloads are complete, I can confirm that every single method I've tested has come back with file header errors. Just for extra clarification, this is the file named [ the-headmaster-0.16.4.3-win.zip ], not the mykocks manor download. That one had absolutely no issues.

Not sure which download manager you used, but it might be worth trying the one I suggested, if you didn't.
.

You also might want to check for a virus or spy ware or something then. We have tested both of those and they are fine. I tested Gofile last night, and CaptainQueso tested Pixeldrain with no issues.

Gegecucu the file archive have header errors. At least the GOFILE (Win) download link in the OP from and Itch (Win) as well. You might want to have a look at it.

Cannot find lable start means it can't find the main script. You unpacked it right? If so either the download is corrupted or something else happened with the scripts. Unpack it again (after deleting the old fodler) and try to start. If that doesn't work redownload.

The Win10 seems like that Renpy just can't difference between Win10&11.
AMD64 doesn't mean an AMD processor but the processor structure also known as "x86-64" or "x64 "

You should know thats not the right person to notify right? Report stuff like that. I'll gonna go check.

Yeah, after reading your previous comments (before I made mine) I downloaded your recommended manager (Jdownloader2) specifically to test the download through that. When the download finally finished, the file still had header errors when I attempted to extract with a newly updated install of 7zip. Every method I can has been tested at least twice, the header error is consistent across all downloads.

Then, like I said, you will want to run a spyware checker (spybot or something), and an anti virus.
All of these files have been tested and retested, the issue has to be something on your end., but I don't know what it could be at this point. Might try winrar too, just to see.
I downloaded Gofile, Mega & Pixeldrain from the OP and the Itch file.
All unpack without trouble. If its only gofile for you guys, its probably on Gofiles side. Heres some a certain Administrator made:

Personally, I use them the most, almost never had an issue.
