Hi everyone,
First of all, my deepest apologies for suddenly falling off the earth without any news. Things went from bad to worse near the end of the year.
Long story short, I had a car accident in early December. I Suffered a wrist fracture and an eyelid laceration. The airbags did a number on me than the accident itself.
Also, thank you for all the messages of concern. All my Patreon access was tied to my home computer, and I couldn't get to it for a few weeks after the accident. After that, I didn't know how to respond since I wasn't sure about the project's future. A medical leave from my job and a totaled car have made life complicated for a while.
I failed to pause Patreon charging the members on time. After pausing it for January, I debated whether to put the game on a hiatus or abandon it. And today, I learned that pause works only for a month at a time. My apologies to anyone who was charged during that time.
After some thinking, I came to a decision. I do not want to get people's money and abandon the game. Now I can finally open my right eye and use the computer mouse long enough. I have set my first goal to finish the update I promised and figure things out from there. I love this game and the fans too much to abandon it without trying.

Good to know he's alright. Although I don't understand why with some (seemingly) minor post crash injuries he's already thought about abandoning the project. Does he think he would never recover completely or something? Just get it fixed, recover, return stronger than ever. I don't think anyone here would mind a longer break or something. There are games where you wait for update for months or even a year+ (Being a DIK) and people apparently don't mind so much.

We can only speculate, but I'm guessing the combination of physical pain and large financial burdens were a significant distraction. As much fun as playing this game is, making it is still a lot of work - and probably for not all that much money. I can't really blame KingB if he felt like he had bigger problems and didn't want to spend his 'free' time on this, especially once he was already well behind schedule.
Obviously it would have been better if he'd made some sort of announcement when he first paused payments, but most of us know how easy it can be to put something unpleasant off for a short time only to find it's even harder to address it after the break. At least we know now. I'm glad he seems to be recovering, and hopefully he'll be able to find a good rhythm once he starts working on the game again. But we should probably keep our fingers crossed for a while.
