I for one would like to rather see part 5 of The Academy series rather than this one. There has been no news on dsp3000 for a long time. I hope he is okay in these Covid times.

Chaotic said if DSP never came back he'd finish The Academy himself, instead he's just spent years posting "DSP will be back... eventually" every few months, more than likely in an effort to keep stretching his paysite for as long as possible. He's spent months and months teasing "ideas" for a "final game" before he quits or something. I wouldn't keep my hopes up.
To be honest, I have no idea why DSP doesn't do a Patreon for their work or something along those lines. Maybe Chaotic and DSP have some sort of deal where they can only get revenue through the vdate site?
Also, $20 a month to play their games on that site is... not fun.

I'll follow up on it, but I'm definitely not being optimistic about a developer who overstretched their own series by so much and then just dropped out of existence for years. Sure as hell not paying anything either, there's just too much risk.
I agree and I think he asking too much for his tiers $43 for early releases like come on he has been gone for a long time and asking this much is pretty crazy for me.

I think it's pretty strange to hide some of the initial info about your future plans behind patron-only posts like dsp is doing. He teases "a new game platform", whatever that means (it's clearly described in a way that isn't just a switch to renpy or something), and mentions "There are in fact another two full episodes which are complete, and one of these is the first half of the long awaited part five. " which is promising I suppose, but if it's already done, wouldn't you be able to give a pretty reasonable timeline of how quickly you can get it released?

Credits for Patrons
The new Academy game releases will utilize a credit based payment platform.
You will be able to play significant parts of the game for free. But to access bonus scenes, additional features and later episodes, players will need to use in an in game credit system.
As a patron you will be rewarded with credits you can use to play the game.
This will be at a level equal to or above whatever you have contributed as a patron.
In other words, if you pledge $10, you'll get at least $10 worth of credits as a reward.
