Let's be real, he has long since passed the line for redemption and end things on a bittersweet note as he realizes he ain't cut out for a sandbox like this, perhaps in an alternate timeline. Too bad we're in the timeline where he doesn't even bother.
I think you should wait. at least for a little while
I don't think they are going to leave it like this or else it's going to be refund hell for them on GOG and steam
why I'm saying this? I finally got past a lot of bugs and reached an ending. (I think there might be 2 at least)
like reaching the end of Effie's side quests, just to provoke a rollback of the flag about getting a job. and then you can't enter your house (seriously XD )
or initiating the route for the other ending and the event to continue is nowhere to be activated. (at least so far. I'm trying to jump on hoops to see of I can trigger the next event on that one)
and I'm not kidding when I tell you the backgrounds on the ending are hand drawn placeholder doodles.
It’s been a few years, but I’m pretty sure I actually looked into (then public) development log and the code at some point. As I recall, their dialogue exists in the code, but it was never implemented properly, so the old placeholder message still appears.
It should be somewhere in my post history, alongside a number of other half-implemented issues that were never resolved.

So, if he's truly done with updating this game, and he disdains any further effort on it, there's nothing stopping unofficial mods taking over and finishing the game on their own terms... Judging by how much is still left "Uncovered" and unfinished, there's some work left to do. I normally hate AI derived art, buuuuut, in this case, it would make any mods and edits to round out this game to a finish take much less time, especially if you take any output and manually smooth out any results to better match the style.... Again, I would not suggest this for anything other than completely abandoned and unfinished works.
you kind of can brute force out of the bug.
at least for me it seems like you need to wait a few days. and talk in the kitchen or the living room with your mom.
when you are locked out of the house. this only happens during the day and afternoon. I think the nights (1 bar left on the time) are ok. if not go for full depletion of the time.
you can run the clock outside the house. just study/work/jog/play cards on your day. fight club/ dance in the night until you can get back to the house.
then talk with your Mom/Landlady in the morning/afternoon. if the talk of the job with her doesn't trigger. try again another day, and again XD (might be that only triggers on weekdays or weekends... but who knows)
that's how I cleared it 2 times.
still nothing on the second ending. actually I got bored of trying everything I could think of and was playing skyrim to flush out the frustration lmao!
but I will try again.
edit: oops. almost forgot. if you are in the phase where you are asking for clues your options for running the clock are limited at best. so if you are in a situation where you already used the usual time skipping events and you hit bug... time for an early save lol
edit 2: once you are inside your house again. you can pass the time in your bed by taking naps, then checking the house to see if the event with your mom/landlady triggers.

I don't really care one way or the other but it might be debatable whether this really deserves to have the completed or the abandoned tag. A decent portion of the game still has unfinished scenes and fair amount of bugs. It's more like GeeSeki slapped the 1.0 sticker on it and wanted to move on.
I do think it was the right call, though. The project did seem to start to get away from them, maybe? I'm not sure. Still a good overall game, especially for a first playthrough.
Wasn't initially interested in their new game Sugar Service but i'll probably just play it once it's further along. I guess I want to be hopeful with what GeeSeki gets up to in the future, we'll see.
Does anybody has this problem, so MC's mom locked herself in the bedroom and she asked for some ice-cream, sure I got to mall and saw an ice-cream shop in the right corner, but wtf I can't buy it 'cause MC no in the mood for an ice-cream for himself, what should I do???
