I don't think L&P wants to build a team. This is his project and he wants to work alone. I made peace with that a long time ago. I think if he chose to he could build a team, which could proportionally raise revenue and could then justify a small studio. But that isn't his ambition. That's fine, but it comes with trade offs, namely in the form of long development cycles.

My fear is that over the next 12 months the growing complexity of the narrative, combined with his focus on both quantity and quality of renders, is going to result in development times steadily increasing. By 2022, two releases a year may be best case scenario. From there it's anyone's guess how patrons will respond. But I would hate to see the bottom fall out of his economic model and threaten the future of the game.

Stop being ridiculous, literally no one wants what you're suggesting; particularly about the renders. 500 renders for a 30 minutes update is a ton of renders, we would celebrate that amount of effort. The problem is that he did 800 for the same amount of gameplay. That's a backbreaking amount of work. I won't call them "redundant" because thats too dismissive of his efforts, but it's simply an unnecessary amount of work. He's killing himself and delaying the game while committing the crime of diminishing returns.

And this game was GORGEOUS in 720p, did your eyes bleed while looking at it? I was a patron when the decision was made to go to 1080. I sent emails and left comments that I didn't think it was worth the effort if it slowed development. The difference between the two is noticable, but it's minor. He's a great artist, I had no complaints at 720, so for the sake of consistency I wanted to be clear on this topic.

But to the point, yes it is exhausting to be so negative. I hate it. I've voiced my issues to death at this point, I can't keep doing it. I also want to like the next update and I want to give it an honest/fair chance. If I keep being negative I fear that I'll bias myself and never be able to enjoy it. I hope it blows me away and makes me think the wait was worth it.

Next one. I think it's called exagerration, blowing out of proportions or hyperbole. That's used sometimes in literature, in books for different reasons. Go figure.

What's the percentage of respondents, having been voiced their minds on an increase of image quality? The miniscule vocal minority.
It would've been fantastic getting 4-5 updates per year, as of right now it's more than unlikely.

I get and respect the decision of working alone. The problem is that L&P is actually stretching things to a point where like many other games this doesn't come to cheap sex scenes(As in without a good reason and breaking all charac. dev to jump in to sex). The game has been for so long which if u calculate the good parts will take 4 or more years. I personally want the good game, story and the returns but in a more probable timeline cause honestly no one can wait that long. Moreover I don't want this project only to be of L&P and want more from him but looking at things and any lack of help he wants to have that's not gonna happen any year sooner.

In truth, I personally am here for fun. Of course, like many others, it is unpleasant for me to wait for a game update for a long time. But this game is not the biggest event in life.

I get what you're saying but how can you say, after so much time (years since help came up), that it's not true? If there was an intent to acquire help why on earth would anyone put out a diatribe about strangers and trust and sharing assets and on and on? Just say something like "You all know the standards I've set, it's so hard to find someone with the skill and technique I require and has a track record of successful collaboration upon which I can base my trust. The search continues."

But we don't get that, we get something akin to the raging ravings of a - I'll stop short of calling L&P a madman, but the tone is really angry and defensive when it doesn't need to be. I get they may be very frustrated on this point but there's no need to be defensive if you're confident in what you're doing.

Maybe the first helper L&P should hire is public relations and communications? If they are really committed to the next 15+ years then why not get someone low-key to handle the tone of public communication? Maybe even do some promotion?
