The good word is hostages because you pay ransomFor the past almost 7 years he's lost alot of subscribers at the beginning of every single month. That applies to pretty much every creator on Patreon. Reason for that is the billing cycle, as many subscribers drop out at the 1st of a new month. Got nothing to do with losing supporters, and numbers will recover over the next weeks.
Besides, L&P's patron count is always going down after a release, as naturally many people will wait for a release month before subscribing again. Which is the smart thing to do, especially with developers who need another 40 years to complete their games. But there's obviously the core supporters who stay subscribed even during the several months without a release.
It's just how Patreon works unless the creator decides to pick a different billing option (which is rather new'ish I believe).
