Hmm that was the only thing I can think of as the error code flags scripts in the /renpy folder and not the game folder. May need to try a new save.

Yo , played for the first time and to be honest the game is okayish.
The girls are interesting , im not finished .. i mean , im with 3 runs , im making a save for each girl .
Im currently on Madisons paths right now and to be honest found weird a few things .
First her father statement of " we are the most powerfull family in this city" ... but it was said that the Orushi or whatever they are called was the most powerful and rich family.... anyway continuing with this ... why a fucking powerfull family dont have money to hire a babysitter for they granddaugther ? I have no idea how much money a babysitter is asking nowadays , but i doubt they ask for more than 100$ peer day , so this most powerful family doesnt have 100$ peer day to take care of they granddaugther while her mother does what she need to do outside while her useless brother cant take care of himself even less a child .... this is absurd .. but is my pov about this
The second thing , her father statement of they dont associate themselfs with "nobody" .... but this mofo was the one that DEMANDED that i should come his house in the first place , without asking anything... Of course if it was me , i would go anyway to help her out , i wouldnt want to create problems to her , but thats not the point here so...
Also the things that confused me the most now is , why the orushi wants to get rid of the MC ? I dont get it .. the mc is from another country , so i doubt the guy know something about him or his past , his family or whatever... i dont know if t was said or not , is the mc going to this college because he won a scholarship or he is paying everything for himself , because would be extremely weird to the guy that brings you from another country , just to kill u... Well in case u are confused for this question , im asking because he asked to his nephew to get rid of him ( mc ) and dont lose the tournament as well. I dont know like i said , im confused about this.
My honestly opinion , you gave a explanation about what a VN should be about it , and you arent following what you said in game itself ... this is a VN right ? AVN... why all this quests and roams when is not fit for a Visual Novel category . ME personaly i hate it doing this things , feels like you dont know what to create or make it to make ppl interested in your vn so you create some minigames to "trap" ppl to play the game . BTW this is just how i feel and see about those types of things in a VN game. YES i know you gave the option to skip all of those , but theres consequences isnt ?

I dont know , the quiz i menaged to get 9/10 , and about the little match , no i didnt get named the player of the game , so they do impact the outcome of this last "task" ?
Hi ! Okay so I will try to explain our point of view.
For the Forrester Family, Charles says :
"Our family SHOULD be the most powerful in this town", and not IS... cause Forresters are the "historical" family of the city. Da Fonseca and Orushi are, for him, the newcomers. THe story of the families will be explain in next episode so that's great you have some concerns about it now.
For the maid or babysitter, of course you're right. But the brother only have the task of taking care of Cassie when Madison isn't at home. As Maddie said, he's at home "waiting" for his time to have Forrester Business for him. He never applied anywhere for studying, even if he didn't need to, but that's his "excuse" for staying at home, "devoted" to his family by letting his sister doing what she wants while he's there for her, for his mother and "taking care" of the family while Madison is doing what she can but will never have the "power". ( This family, or more exactly the way this family works, is coming from a real one we knows. Old Rich Father with a younger woman, the sister that try to be a pro ( in her case photography and she travels a lot ) and the brother waiting for his time doing things onside and "taking care" of his nephew... ).
As for the dinner, Forrester asked Madison to come with MC cause they were together in the tournament. She have choose MC during the tournament, herself or helped by Ruby, and Charles knows it. He don't know who MC is and where he comes from, so he wants to know who is with her daughter. Like you said, he don't want his name or daughter associated with a nobody, but he didn't invited MC cause MC is "regular", he verified this while talking to him.
Now, the Orushi.
Orushi "Father" never said anything about getting rid of the MC, only thing he said was that the MC is interesting and Emerick should have an eye on him, that's where Emerick ( Nephew of Orushi ) said he will take care of it. Orushi invited MC in his selection, he won't be against him. That's one point for Emerick to not be pleased by the "success" of MC. Orushi is intrigued by MC. MC is there for a language exchange program and the "outsider" of the contest. Emerick needs approval of Orushi, he have the name but not the power. (Kira, in this case, got it).
Again this part will be more explained in next chapter cause we will enter more in details about the B.E.S.T competition and how it is organized.
SPoiler alert : next episode is called : "Origins". Seems it's the good time for this one.
Now the AVN Ruby scene never said anything about the gameplay of the game. DOn't know where you have seen something about it but Ruby never talked about minigames ingame but just said you have to let players choose what they wants to play. SO there is the skip button.
Honestly, we don't make these "games" just for fun and because we don't know how to have people interested in our game ( which people are you talking about ? We have 30 000 players that have paid on Steam and plays it ).
We asked what they wants in the game, they asked for more interaction with the phone, free roams and minigames to have more a game to play than a series to watch. Opposite to this, we have players that says they dont want some things added in gameplay.
Example : At first we were thinking of actionning space to charge the shot of MC during a match. We asked players and many said to us if they wanted to play football, they would go FIFA. And we understand it.
There are still some that dislike minigames, you seems to be part of it. We have, in this case, added the skip button with consequences because the game is a contest and that should not be right for players that tries to have 10/10 on the quiz to be on the same state that those that have skipped the test.
For the last trial yes you can win. All girls have a different passive bonus that may help you to do so. ( example, Julia got only 3 hints to found instead of four ).
Every displacement cost time on the map, but nearest location takes less time than opposite location. so optimize your displacements to have the more locations avaible in a few moves.
You can even be 1st of the competition at this point, if you don't skip other games.
Hope I have answered correctly to you ( Our english still isn't perfect ^^ ).

I just re-read what I wrote and maybe it sounds harsh, the way how it feel. But we really like those kind of critics! We like to have feedbacks about things that seems not good or story that needs more explanations
Better to have your questions than just some : "When next update?"...
And yes we take time to asks players what they wants and tries to mix their answers with our vision of the game. For us, the "gameplay mechanics" of the trials is in the adn of the game. A contest, some trials, and players that plays it to become number one. If we didn't listen to players, we would have not added the skip button, players wouldn't have access to statistics during the building episodes 1 and 2 etc...
Example of where listening to players is maybe too much sometimes... Episode 2 way of answering. Players asked to have access to their statistics everytime to make their choose so we have added the trophy icon on the border. Then they asked to know which answer gives which statistic to build their "set". That's why in episode 2 the answers are by statistic and not the answer themselves... Wasn't a good idea to make it like that, it's our fault. So we will rework this part cause it doesn't feel natural. Maybe with UI management to have buttons that gives both indications : the answer and the stat associated... color or icon...
Now I think the way we're doing it ( having access to stats by the phone during time when player have access to it ) seems the most natural one. Maybe we're still wrong but game is still in early access to enhanced it.
This is our first game so yes there are mistakes done. We're aware of it and tries to improve in every domain. I think we can see all the improvements episode by episode, render quality or features of the phone added etc.
Finally, we're taking the players ideas and wishes as much as we can. We don't seek for "popularity" by doing our trials ^^ If we wanted to do it just for popularity, Patreon money etc... We would not add features, we would make some simple "slice of life" avn, more kinetic, with more H-scenes and it wouldn't be our game. When we add trials that players have to do, we're thinking in terms of : what's doable, what should be "fun", what would be "new". Every trial must be different to test different aspects of MC ( and player ) personality. Quiz was more general knowledge, related to Education Statistic, First trial was more in Sport, Third one is more orientation and analyse... Next one will be again different. It must stay "fun" for players that likes minigames, but shouldn't be a burden.
FOr free-roams part, we're not doing it a lot ... cause we don't know how to do it well. Players asked for them. Asked for more "deep" ones after Grace Party, with more interaction and more things to do. Most of players never have gone in the poker room during this event, didn't found the scenes with Blue or discussed with Kira.
We could say that it's players fault. But it's not.
We're not good at it cause we're trying to make things different everytime and the way freeroams are done in other games isn't how we imagine it. BUT the way we have done it isn't good enough (we're still beginning in UI experience ^^ ).
In peisode 4, the Palazio night with Kira was imagined as a free roam with hidden scenes etc... But after testing, it worked well the way we've done it with access to scenes directly, depending on the paths and stats, instead of making players click... for click.
Will stop there cause I'm writing a novel...

I played every girl's path so far and my ranks are from 4-15 depend on God knows what,lol.(Top score on each test)
P.S. I had worst starting rank on Buddy with Ruby. Never tried Temper tho

I earned this achievement choosing Julia as my partner for the final test.
