It's not whenever I redownload this I always do 0.7If you're referring to the New Version 0.8. I dought that its playable, if anyone has managed to have the full save with all the scenes hopefully someone will share it.

Maybe the project could be continued with a disclaimer stating that it's an 'unofficial' continuation? That way, people interested in the game can still experience it while properly acknowledging the original work.Funnily enough I was debating that same thing. Tl:dr I actually already did pick this game up and continue it.
I found this game a couple of months ago, in v0.8. It's an interesting project, I like the art style, and I was looking forward to seeing where it'd go in the next release. Since 0.8 wasn't very stable I decided to just fix all the bugs I was seeing while I waited. That then turned into re-adding the content I realised had been hidden/removed from 0.7.
It was a fun side project but once I saw the creator had not only stopped working on it but deleted all their accounts, I decided to just flesh out what I wanted from the game myself - i.e. finishing up the character stories, filling out the plot, more scenes, more choices... Ended up just rewriting the entire code from scratch and recreating the content I liked, filling out the rest.
It got to a point in the last few days where as said, I was debating that same thing - is it now worth sharing/devoting proper time to?
If it was an active project I absolutely wouldn't do it or share it with anyone else (I know I'd find it disrespectful if someone posted a rewritten version of a game I made without at the very least asking me, especially if they'd changed lots), but if the game is abandoned and there is no way to contact the creator, is it different? Both ethically, and in terms of the upload rules.
I've erred on the side of "Best not".
Honestly, you could just as easily either add a disclaimer saying that this isn't official, and that it is done with all respect to the original developer.Funnily enough I was debating that same thing. Tl:dr I actually already did pick this game up and continue it.

id consider this more closer to a mod than you taking over the entirety of the IP.Funnily enough I was debating that same thing. Tl:dr I actually already did pick this game up and continue it.

Wait a sec, you fixed all the bugs? Why don't you share the copy then? It would greatly help.Funnily enough I was debating that same thing. Tl:dr I actually already did pick this game up and continue it.

You could start a new thread, called "fan remake" whatever and just link the thread here... Dunno if it's allowed, but plenty of 'Big Brother' remakes did it like that, and they're still there.I'd be open to doing it if it's allowed and there is interest in it. I've taken another look at the rules and the "Game Uploading Section 6" implies it's okay (it'd fall under the remakes part). Though the examples I found were all done with permission, or filled with comments slagging off the uploader for doing it without permission....
I'm a coder, not an artist, so I'm limited to re-using/re-purposing the art that was already there. Without being able to add new art there is only so far I can take it.
As for the bug fixes - I rewrote the project from scratch. Only a few fixes were actually made in the original project code before I decided to do so. I'm afraid I don't have a "fixed" version of v0.8 to share.
Yep good suggestion. I have a fair bit of tidying up I'd want to do first (very different standard of polish in something just for me vs something I'd want to share), so will probably spend a couple of weeks doing that and then see where everything's at.You could start a new thread, called "fan remake" whatever and just link the thread here... Just a thought.
