I think the issue isn't in the "cheating" tracker being there and/or the consequences per se, but more about how tight the thresholds are set. Effectively from ep.8 onwards you have to be a wooden nun in all following interactions with anyone but the chosen girlfriend, otherwise you risk accumulating more than 3-4 points which is apparently enough for Fuckface to determine that he doesn't have feelings for his girlfriend(s) and won't even think of declaring love for her. Which is, honestly, pretty ridiculous.
