If that is the case, that will be almost certainly the downfall of Magnar's plan. The preps don't really care about them, but both the alphas and the DIKs don't want them to fall. It might even be that they will work together to save the HOTs.

Also Sage might be angry in the beginning, but if the 3 current available restaurant HOTs (Mel, Sarah and Cammi) explain themselfs, I'm pretty sure she will cool down enough to not let them enter the war. They can solely put the blame on Quinn.

Still Sage will be furious because at that point she'll know about Stephen's involvement

I agree, but that doesn't mean she will pull the whole HOTs in. It's more likely she's going to use the Scooby gang with maybe the help of Jade to get more evidence on him.
