Speaking strictly on the throuple path.
Josy might have more sexual experience with guys and in general then what Maya does but she is in no way more daring. Josy is more talk then she is action. It was Josy's idea for them to get their tongue's pierced, made Maya go first before chickening out. It was Josy's plan for making MC happy again through butt stuff, made Maya go first and then unsuccessfully tries to back out of taking it up that tight ass of hers. There is also the difference between the vibrator in Math class scene where Josy taps out early and Maya orgasms like a mf'ing champ.
Maya might have started off behind but she's not anymore.

Josy is still the most pro-active, and still way ahead of Maya when it comes to sexuality, being aggressive, and suggestive of all scenarios. If anything, in the throuple,
Maya's the one playing second fiddle to Josy, which makes her Episode 11 wah moment make
absolutely no sense.
This is going off the top of my head since I just finished researching it.
Episode 8
-At the gym, MC asks if their relationship should be this wild, and she says yes. They have public bathroom sex.
-Josy pushes for Maya to stay at the HOTs, saying Heather will be out with Tommy.
-Josy, Maya, and Derek go to the Juno Swimming Spa. Josy is excited for it, and it was her idea.
-Josy suggests sex in public, and Maya is shocked.
-Maya says that sex should be private, but Josy replies that there is no one else there but them.
Episode 9
-Josy wants to make Maya feel better by not having dressing room sex with the MC, and she helps pick out the costume.
-During the Hallowe'en party, Josy jokes that she is going to pick "dare" every time, just so she can grab stuff.
Episode 10
-Maya asks if she and Josy have to act differently around each other; Josy asks how. Josy responds that she shouldn't think about it, and if she ignores what people say, then those problems will tend to go away. Maya thinks being that confident with their relationship is scary, and Josy responds that's what makes it so exciting, and she reminds Maya that she can publicly kiss him without being judged; this would put up an effective smokescreen.
-Josy dares Maya to do it, and she does, and kisses MC on the mouth right in front of Derek.
-At the Thanksgiving Party, Josy dares the MC to have sex with her and Maya behind the porta potties
Episode 11
-Sage calls Josy the mastermind behind the plan to get Maya's contract.
-The BDSM threesome was all Josy's idea and planning.
etc.
I'm sure I missed a lot in the first 7 Episodes; luckily I wrote it down last week. (Josy is more aggressive in the throuple, but Maya certainly isn't lame with the MC with classroom sex, behind the green screen, etc.)
Even Josy's wah moment is constructive, in that she builds a blog on exercise, health food and fashion, starts buying clothes, a tripod, and plans a winter outing for a photoshoot.
Josy is the most positive, confident, open about her sexuality than any other character, aside from party animal Sage. Maya isn't lame; she's just not on the same level. Josy has a huge crush on the MC regardless of him dating her or in the throuple.
DPC didn't handle her existential moment well. Absolutely no build up. It is forced drama/conflict, and hopefully will be forgotten or explained next episode.
