The irony being that the slow pace of updates causes people to NOT give money. Like I don't want to subscribe for 4 years straight for a single project. But I'd happily subscribe for bigger updates knowing this project will be complete on a reasonable timeline and then stick around if I like the next project. I'm subscribed to plenty of other Developers who just put out consistent full chapter+ updates every few weeks. I can't justify subscribing for a pittance of content. Maybe I'm missing something. Spending $5 a month for 5 minutes of content is horrendous value. I can get a movie ticket for $11.50 for 2 hours+ of content. I can spend $30 on a steam game for 50 hours of content. I don't mind getting a little less value to support a small developer but I need a little more than 5 minutes of content.
Couldn't you just subscribe every few months, pay $5, then unsubscribe until a few months later? I've done that for games where I didn't want to pay every month but wanted to show some support. It's not like Tori or Patreon is forcing you to pay every month.

Absolutely if I wanted to deal with the hassle. I love the work and I don't want to just be negative as I think that's corny and every developer can do what they want to do. Just giving my perspective as a potential customer. That's all.

you'd hope there would be 15 updates worth of CGs in the game files since the size is already 2.7 fucking gigs and we're 3% into the narrative so far
3% into the narrative? Can we atleast keep the criticism honest instead of dishonest?

The dev made very terrible decisions, but honesty is not what we should sacrifice.

They have lost interest, but they're always here to tell us that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Losing interest doesn't mean I don't want to know other people's opinions, that's why the forum is not to flatter liars, it's to bring people together around a game we like, unfortunately the game's dev is lying and was caught lying about many things but that doesn't mean I'm going to abandon the forum or the game, I just won't contribute money anymore.

Now, if we're here to review and read about the game, it's because we absolutely downloaded and played the brand-new Torishakespeare update.

Excuse us, Tori, you're a misunderstood genius (in the business).

In an attempt to bring the forum back to game discussion, Torimiata what would you say are your top 3 favorite scenes in the remake (Either released already or in future updates)?
I'm curious which scenes didn't match your vision in the original version of the game, but you are happy with now

I could probably talk about that all day :ROFLMAO:

I know it's more verbose and hopefully I'll find places to cut some bits here and there but I would say the script is much better in general - for anyone that enjoys slow-burns that is.

I barely had character backgrounds planned in the OG. The structure was also all over the place.

Even the recent backstory flashback with Ayumi at the bus stop is a pretty cool one for me. In the original, it barely touched on their history together. It just stated they were friends.

I think that being able to show that vulnerable moment with her mom's illness and how their first kiss came to be gives so much more weight to their relationship.

I also love the atmosphere of that type of scene. The whole shift from overcast to rain to sunshine. Super trope-ish but little symbolic touches make me happy (that probably go unnoticed but who cares...)

I like the OG for many things but I genuinely think people have rose-tinted glasses. An obvious example to me is the bukkake imagination scene at the end of Day 2. The scene came out exactly how I wanted in the remake and putting that scene side-by-side is a clear reminder of the difference in quality. Maybe it hits differently if you already expect it but you have to also consider first-time players.

My actual favorite scenes are all coming in Act 2 though. Everything now is building foundation for when things really start heating up.

I do think the script on the pool HJ scene is already much stronger in the remake and I'm really looking forward towards the outfit room.

this "act" thing is meaningless without context.
Depends on how many acts are planned, but a three-act structure breaks a story up into generalized segments:

Act 1 (Setup)
Act 2 (Confrontation)
Act 3 (Resolution)

For this story, I'm guessing it will be the escalation phase when MC and Ayumi have fully established relationships with the other bulls/unicorns during Act 1 and start turning their more adventurous fantasies into experiences. It has been mentioned that some new kinks will be introduced at that time. Then, assuming a three-act story structure, a major event or conflict driver leads to a climax at the end of Act 2 which is resolved in Act 3.
