Ren'Py Cabin by the Lake [v0.44] [Nunu]
This game is pretty fun, and insanely ambitious. That said, I might be too stupid to play it properly.
I feel like I am not 'exploring' properly. It never does anything. Except Cassidy's room. That does something. Not sure what, yet. But it definitely does something.

Okay, I thought about it for a while and it seems that the issue was something related on my end.
I run a bootleg shadowcopy service on my machine using an externally mounted NAT. This works in a similar way the windows server version does, by making copies of files. These are raw copies and not restoration points and since I have 5TB external storage available, I simply designated my entire 500GB main drive for duplication, meaning I can run a full restoration pretty quickly.
Here's my theory: since that counts as a mounted disk and the stack got copied along with it, it seems Ren'py got confused about it's own state.
Stopped the service, unmounted the disk, ran another clean up, works now.
TIL: Ren'py gets easily confused and it doesn't help what you're doing with the flags here is pushing the limits of the engine. It's pretty amazing though.

I was quite adamant about that, as well as a specific breast expansion tag, with the mod team when things were being reworked. But they judged it to be superfluous as you could "create the same effect by combining other tags"... I pointed out that "big tits", "Body modification" and "extreme proportions" could theoretically mean someone has breasts grow to be best measured in astronomical units... it could also mean that there is a token D cup, the player has a huge dick and a third character gets a nose piercing. They were unmoved by my sensible argument.
thats why they need to add tags to be added by the community. one person shouldnt just be able to tag it. if multiple people put the same thing down for a tag though it should put it up there. (and ofc let the original poster be able to add their own tags without needing multiple people)
Holy shit you are the man. Copied it to a note.txt, put it into the game folder, bam. Worked perfectly. Maybe learning how to do this myself isn't outside my reach afterall.

I used a similar argument regarding the "Transformation" tag being used for gender swapping games, when a tag called "Gender swap" would be more clear and precise, but they didn't buy it.

is anyone finding the in game guide less and less helpful, like parts of it are buggy, and incomplete or jut don't show up?
Yeah, there really need to be more Tags. When I look at Tits alone, you only have "small tits" and "big tits". And sometimes you see the Tag "big tits" for something like C-Cups, because anything which is not flat is then labelled "big tits", while someone who likes "big tits" might think that this game has too big tits, so something like "massive tits" and "medium tits" should be a thing.
Some with fake-looking tits or natural tits. There are games here which clearly feature big tits, but they look fake because the Dev prefers it that way, but with a proper tag you would get less people who search for "big tits" who would complain about the fake-looking tits.
I like that Cabin of the Lake features tits this big, it makes it unique and it is a huge turn-on for me, but I can see why some people dislike it, even if they are into "big tits".
(I have never written the word "tits" more often in my life)
A small bug report - the Peek path in the Brushing Carla's hair scene never shows as "seen" even after you select it. I'm trying to do a 100% run and it's bothering me as I want the satisfaction of going through all the scenes at the end and seeing that every option has been taken.
As someone who has been down the 100% clear guide path you will find a few of these, they are known, and they have been distinctly left in the game by the dev despite people mentioning them repeatedly. The fact they all revolve around 1 character either directly or by connection to that location and she has several unique reactions to loops or player actions she should have no awareness of it is all likely connected to the overarching plot and not a series of coincidental bugs.
