There wasn't any "slowdown" when I made the comment you are referring to. Development for RD started in November 2022, which means Chapters 16, 17, 18, and 19 of CD were all released alongside active development for RD.

CD later faced difficulties getting approved on Steam, which had a significant impact on its development speed.

People being weird about the game - plus the drama during the Chapter 19 release - also did not help because it took away some of the joy and momentum. To be honest, it's kind of bizarre to me how a cute slice-of-life porn game (and a free one at that) managed to attract such miserable and frankly unhinged people. Thankfully, 99% of CD players aren't like this and have been much more supportive.

I don't think it's exactly that, but related to that. He (who by all appearances seems like a nice enough guy) made a game in which the characters - specifically the female models and worldbuilding attract a certain personality of player; and this has a strong overlap with the personalities you see on display here.

The early chapters are pretty rough and do look a bit uncanny at times. This is mostly due to a lack of experience when I first made CD. I plan to fix some of these renders before the Steam release, although there's not much I can do about eye size since that's just the way the characters are designed.

While it is true there are some(!) players requesting forcefully this or that, it is NOT the reason so many CD fans are extremly bitter and hostile They are hostile because of all the, sometimes really obvious, lies Iondivvy posted for over a year.

If he/she would have stated openly that being close to burnout the development of CD would be stopped for a time, most fans would have been sad but understood the situation.
INSTEAD Iondivvy chose the way of lies and obfuscation! First there was the near instantly broken promise that development of "Rebel Diarrhea Duet" would not impact the development of Casual Desire. Patently and obviously untrue! Then over time followed a string of flimsy excuses, also fully untrue since they did not apply to RD as can be seen with it´s continious development.

Very "believable", coming from a developer who has taken halftruths, lies and obfuscation to an artform. It is quite telling that there is no answer to the heady promises and excuses made for CD development, but then again, they ALL came to naught and been proven false so far.
The last 1-1 1/2 years has taught us that your word can be trusted as far as you can throw a 40 tons truck.

This is one of the most disappointing game that I've ever played. Not because the game itself is disappointing. But because the developer abandoned the game yet continued to tell everyone that they have not abandoned the game. The last update was a little over a year ago. This dev went on to pivot to another game completely yet kept telling us that this game has not been abandoned. I don't want this game to be abandoned. But what do you expect at this point? Until there is an actual update, the game has been abandoned.

Oh noes.. developer of free game had expectations of their own performance beyond their ability. Obviously deserves to be crucified for such.

Anybody jumping on the dev at that point is at least partially responsible for any additional slowdowns. When you make it so that any entry into the project is met with screaming mobs accusing someone of lying for what I assume they also feel as a personal failure, it becomes extremely hard for the dev to justify to themselves getting back into it at all.

You want more of a game? Provide payment. Provide praise. Provide patience.

Those three things will go a *lot* further toward getting a dev to move forward with a game than *any* hint of negativity ever well.

If you really think the dev is lying, or are personally offended by their comments or whatever, be the bigger person and silently walk away. Don't shank them and spoil whatever opportunity is left for the rest of the people who don't share your impatience.

The game went from 50% completed on dec. 30 to nearly complete on jan 18 with a release date in the next 2-3 weeks acc. to the post. It even mentions that ionDivvy "originally expecting this to be a smaller and more sex-focused update, but it ended up becoming a fairly substantial one"

So everyone guess which game is more important.

And yes i was shaking my head when i saw the RD post in my email.

I know right? IonDivvy is a piece of crap for allocating their time however they want. How dare they spend time and energy into a project which we get to enjoy for free. Along the way they made mistakes with estimates such as project balancing, scope creeping, and burnout. Unforgivable.
