Just copy all the savexxx files from your previous version into the main directory of the new version.
This game could use a fucking guide, or map or smth, because I can't even find the damn college or library. >_<
It tells you where to find the college right at the start.
Anyways somebody kind actually made a map a while back, but I forgot to include it in this update.

The game would have been incredible 10 years ago, but as it is now it's just too annoying and time-consuming to play and is lacking a lot of quality of life.

Well I'm still enjoying it even with it's flaws. The dev is doing this as a passion project and not even charging for it. If I stopped enjoying it I would stop playing it.
i played 2.8 them lost my save, no fucking way i playing all of that again, but is a good game, waiting for a renpy remake lol
Or you just take one of the saves from the "saves"-game-folder, that's included in the rar-file, which allows you to start at the beginning of the content of whatever update you want
