Placeholders eventually get replaced. Many of the placeholders in the game have been there for over 2 years. And people aren't very forgiving of that, as evident by The Day Before, which was using lots of placeholders. Almost all the reviews of that game mentioned the placeholders as a problem.

The issue with this project is that bugs that have been present for months to years aren't getting fixed. Like the sex sliders in the Options menu for pregnancy and that haven't worked since like Alpha 7? So if the intent is to fix them, why haven't they been fixed, and if the intent is for them to not be fixed, why haven't they been removed like the placeholder "get nude button" did a few releases ago?

Lots of people have complained about the aimbot, almost godlike ability of bots to thread a needle from 500 meters away, but you can't hit the broadside of a barn 10 meters away, with your own shots. Corporates are nearly invulnerable, even with a full composite rifle and the best bullets in the game, it often takes a full mag dump to the head to kill one. While they take you out in a single hit with full corporate armor at max durability.

Sex scenes have been on the backburner for years. Yes you get a new one maybe once every 3 releases, which even for most porn game standards is bad (as that is waiting 9+ months for a new scene). But all the old scenes have bugs in them that haven't been fixed, regardless of the amount of times people have reported them.

I could go on, but I think you get the point. The developer is more interested in adding in poorly conceived or rushed mechanics, than to fix/flesh out the existing stuff. That would be fine normally, with other games, if you would get a build, and then 30+ hotfixes, over the next couple of weeks, to address all the issues. But instead of doing that, a build is released, often in an unstable fashion and the bugs might get fixed by the next release, or they may stay in the game for months to years. With a different release schedule this kind of development would be fine, but when its 3 months between builds, it can be insufferable, especially to the people actually paying them money.
Well said. The thing I'm most shocked about is that there wasn't ANY hotfix to fix the food/energy drain issues. I honestly expected it to be improved within a week, given that v20 had received 2 hotfixes.

The main issue, that I've seen in a lot of developers, is that they don't playtest their game, or worse, they playtest their game only with debug settings on. ie They immediately give themselves all the best implants and then balance the game around that power level. Rather than try to understand how miserable the early game is without any implants.

Like I've worked with a lot of non-porn developers and this is a major issue; they wonder why the reviews are so terrible, but yet, the early game is absolute shit, while the lategame might be balanced/fun, but you have to play to get there, and a lot of people don't care to do that anymore.

The patrons (and us) are the playtesters. Playtesting game made by oneself has one issue, being that the dev is naturally good at their own game. So if everything is balanced upon their experience, it would be way too hard for newcomers.

And I assume that the focus on game mechanics over porn aspect is influenced by his patrons? Or at least the majority of them?

The issue with outsourcing playtesting is that unless you actually listen and work on the feedback provided, outsourced playtesting is useless. A developer who actually plays it themself, knows what the issues are, and what is a priority to address. But if they listen to playtesters and prioritize what they bring up, then they don't have to playtest themself.

Ah, but they don't usually balance is based on that experience. They give themselves debug tools and practice at that level of progression and assess that its too easy. Then when people challenge them to play it at base level progression that they say is too easy, they often get destroyed too. But then rarely do anything about it then either.

I seem to recall lots of patrons wanting more porn content, and not having it delivered.

Alright, I know I'm missing something, but how do you get battery?
I've got the food energy converter installed, and I'm fully fed. It's also the only cyberware I have installed.
What am I missing?

Go to your cyberware menu and adjust your food converter. It'll be this sliding bar, I have mine set to 80%. This varies on how much cyberware you have though. You can upgrade other parts like your intestines to help with digestion.

Btw, if you're not a fan of the full cyberpunk look (I'm personally not) you can get a skin upgrade that makes you look human again. ALSO, take off any NSFW body mods and store them before you save and exit (you save by sleeping). Because if the login fucks up, you'll lose any NSFW stuff because it throws you into the censored version of the game.

Cheers, that looks like it worked.

Nevermind, after about 15 minutes the problem has reappeared. taking off all the cyberware, staying fully fed, and with the conversion rate now at 65% still lets my battery drain.

You might need to upgrade it. Check the stores for cyberware upgrade parts, that should help. Also bump up the percentage a bit more. I know it's kinda finicky, the dev hasn't balanced it out yet.

In case you didn't scroll thru the last two pages, that's what everyone has been complaining since the last update.

anyone else getting an issue with the game constantly crashing?
make sure youre not overclocking. UE5 is very delicate when it comes to overclocking(because its poorly made with tons of loopholes and faults xD). take into consideration that some hardware can be factory overclocked so return default values, also check if you are not running unpatched 13-14gen intel cpu as unreal tends to crash on those. gl
