That sounds like the frequent problem. Set your SaveData folder, in your install directory, to "Read Only". (Right click, Properties, and click "Read Only" checkbox) Don't know what that is, but I had the same error and that fixed it (many others too)

Addendum, make sure it is unchecked (the box is blank). It apparently needs write access, checking it one may change it from filled in to check, it needs to be blank (chmod 777 | chowner user:usergroup; // for those familiar with other OS).

So when is the main post getting updated with links to the ENG version of the game that's become available on Kagura Games, JAST, and MangaGamer? It's been a few months since August 8th 2023, and I'd have to assume those versions are open to use in a Western system locale otherwise they wouldn't be sold.

LOL "HOW DARE THE CHARACTERS HAVE LIVES AND ALREADY ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER BEFORE THE GAME EVEN STARTS GRRR" But fr no you're not missing anything that's how the game starts it makes the world more lived in and real because of the fact that we start mid-crime career with Nayuta (that's the gang's name) but you do get some backstory with some characters in there events which is nice
