I think the game is significantly less interesting than it was at the beginning. It could also be due to the initial hype.
What I don't like (anymore)
But many decisions don't make the game better, they make it worse.
The animations, for example, simply look cheap and add no value to the game.
They actually make the game worse because they simply replace the beautiful CGs. The developer doesn't plan to switch between them.
There are even plans to replace everything with animations!
The game thrives on the CGs! So why replace them?
This is one of the reasons why I no longer support this project!...
In my opinion, there are too many characters, which divides the focus among many routes.
Another aspect is the development time. And here I can form a fairly well-founded opinion because I've helped develop many games!
If I look at the time Teku needs to transform the images from lineart to the final colorized image, it's less than a day per image. This is based on my experience on his Discord.
So it can't really be the images, because not that many were added. Those have to be created in about two weeks.
All that's left is the writing and coding.
The coding is quite simple. Show and hide an image - display text with the emotion.
If everything has already been thought through, you can implement several hundred lines of dialogue with emotions per day.
So that can't be the problem either.
Only the writing is very time-consuming, because you have to make the dialogue and the story in general interesting and consistent.
You also have to consider which emotion works best.
One of the writers has already dropped out.
Testing is also quite relaxed because the routes are kept very simple.
There are very few decisions in the entire game, and these only have a limited impact on the storyline.
The next day, the previous day's decisions are irrelevant.
If you look at the roadmap on the Patreon page, it ends after Chapter 7, the current one.
The "sound and music" and the "gallery" are still missing.
The planned release on Steam is scheduled for 2025 (this year).
This only leads to the following conclusions:
1. They've taken on too much.
2. The timeline was a fraud from the start! And they're trying to rip off Patreon supporters and appease them with minor changes.
