Ren'Py - Evelyn's Story [v0.37.5] [Rabbit Haven]

I love the game for simply the fact that it has rich story. The content is also a lot but in terms of the corruption it seems like it is rather forced at first but then slowly coming from her voluntarily which is awesome. I was kinda disappointed at first that more scene are locked behind codes or paywall but I understand where the dev is coming from by doing this. Its necessary if you want to support the dev but it’s a bit ridiculous that scenes are locked just like that. I just hope the locked scenes are not that much integral to the story otherwise we would be missing out on a lot but yeah overall the game is great and the low ratings it got in this site is so overexaggerated like really guys? Yall hate sandbox that much? Lol. I paid for the patreon tier sub right after I played the 0.37v and its worth it. For a 3D honeyselect type games this one is top tier for sure. I hope the dev ignore the hate bait and focus on developing this game until its done.

Well, I already wrote a regular post about the game in July '24. Now I'm starting a new one.
On the positive side, some quest lines have received more content.
On the negative side, the poor time management and the countless unnecessary clicks are still there.
I'm also just noticing the poor pay at the company.
You go to work at 7:00 AM, get called to the boss for a handjob, and leave his office at 6:30 PM without any financial gain.
The next day, MC is called back to the office, this time for a handjob, a blowjob, and sex all in the same amount of time (okay, 11.5 hours is actually plenty of time for that), but it's already the second full day without pay.
Or the tutoring sessions.
MC sleeps 2 x 4 hours at night, goes to the boy's at 6:00 AM, sleeps on his bed, gets harassed, and leaves the house at 7:00 PM???
My plan was to tutor the boy for maybe 2-4 hours, then go to work, bypass the boss's time window, and earn some money to get closer to the required €5,000 for the laptop.

I have no idea how I would rate all this in a review. Considering all the negative criticisms, I'd actually have to deduct three stars. On the other hand, the game does pique a certain curiosity about what happens next, even if much of it is extremely clichéd.

I hope the developer doesn't abandon the game because of all the negative reviews. On the other hand, I hope even more that the developer finally addresses the many negative criticisms from many players and tries to make the game more accessible in the foreseeable future.

Well, that was quite an experience.
You just start the game, no idea what to do or where to go. Every step you take requires several clicks.
Go to bed - change to nude - sleep for 4 hours - go to bed - change to nude - sleep for 4 hours - go to bed - change to nude - sleep for 4 hours - go to bed - change to nude - sleep for 4 hours.
Immediately afterward, you go (via several pointless steps) to walk a dog, fall asleep, and therefore get less money. After fucking 16 hours of sleep!!!
Since there's only empty spaces waiting for you after that and nothing else to do, click, click, click your way home - go to bed - switch to naked - sleep for 4 hours - go to bed - switch...
Next day, tutoring a boy, pointlessly click your way home, click your way through the night... and you're standing around aimlessly again. The quest log is empty, two character overviews say "walk the dog" and "tutor the boy," and you can't accept either job.
So, work at my desk until the end of the day, idiotically click home, idiotically click through the night. 16 hours later, to the gym, on the treadmill... nope, too tired!!!

Although I agree with many of the concerns noted by those who give this game one or two stars, I have to disagree that this is a one or two star game.

The world is unusual, and the variety of events is inventive. There are a few ingenious surprises in the story.

And the model herself is lovely.

There is a gem of a game here, and the mechanics of playing it are improving.

It is still somewhat grindy due to having to change clothes and due to the many clicks required to sleep and to work at the office. And many of the quest directions are unclear.

But if the player can go beyond those problems, the game itself is good because of its variety and inventiveness and world building. The sexual situations are strong. The models are excellent for a comic of this type.

So, overall a good game and worth 4 stars. Could be in the top twenty percent of games and worth 5 stars with improvements to playability.

The game looked promising with similar themes to Tomie Wants To Get Married, but I now understand why it has been rated so poorly. When I first started playing the game I had no idea about what to do because there was no tutorial or guide to tell me what I should be doing/where to go to actually start playing the game in terms of its quests. If you get stuck on a quest, the hints given are straightforward sometimes but also really pathetic sometimes. However, there isn't a proper quest screen or anything, and you have to look at your contacts list thingy to try and figure out what you're meant to do next.

The game is INCREDIBLY REPETITIVE, and you spend a lot of time doing the same things over and over again (not NSFW) to try and progress/unlock the next scenes. You have to do so many things to just go to one area (explained in another review about the gym) and the sleeping commands are so annoying because there's only options to sleep for 2 or 4 hours and not through the whole night. It is so time consuming and just not worth playing as a NSFW game.

A positive is that the actual model is pretty cute.

The story is very rich content, it has many different things. Extremely fun to explore throughout, hopefully more content for many things sooner especially for the school and jobs, also the games frequently updates even if they are small it proves that the developer does love the game and willing to focus and make the community know that its a game that is developing.

This game has a very bad rating, huh? Why is that? I rated it bad because the game doesn't have a tutorial to explain the story and what you should do in the game. It just starts and throws you onto the map. You're like an idiot looking for what to do. That's why I don't like map games, since most of them are poorly made.

Game is super terrible. You would spend all the time just clicking, clicking and clicking. UI is super bad. The developer is trying to fit so many functions and features all at once even though the game is still in an early stage. Map is all over the place, when the content was just one single place only. The game becomes a chore, you know? A chore! Listen to your critics! Do something about it! The idea is great, but the UI and mechanics are super terrible! Wasting time! Did you play and test your own game?! You like what you've created?

Extreme Clickfest. One of the worse UI's I have ever seen in a title. Anything and I mean Anything you want to do requires an insane amount of clicks.

Want to go to the Gym after work? First you have to click back to the world map 3 times, then when you are on the world map, you would think ok click on the Gym...Right? WRONG! What you actually have to do is
Click Home - Click the front door - Click into the Bedroom - Click on the Closet - Click on Gym Clothes -then- Click the back arrow Once, Click the back Arrow twice - Click the back Arrow a third times to get back to the world map!! Then you Click on the Gym!

So am I nitpicking lets look at sleeping, If you want to sleep you MUST put on Sleep Wear every time. Most games have an option to "Sleep until Morning" but not here! Evelyn's Story gives you a sleep for 2 hours or a sleep for 4 hours option ONLY. So you need to click two to three times to get to morning. You say screw it let's go out at night and explore the city... WRONG, It's to late and you can't leave your house until you finish sleeping!

QUEST - most of the time when you see a QUEST button, you click on it and it gives you at least a clue what to do next and/or it keep track of what quests your on... NOT here! You get a list or Friends, Family and Others and at least initially no damn information as to what to do next. So you repeat days randomly until something changes.

Did I mention the horrible CLICKFEST you go to work, Click on you Desk, the Click to WORK, the Click again to Work, then repeat Clicking on WORK a few more time until the work day ends.

The Dev should pay us for this for wasting our time.

They need to hire someone to work on the user interface ASAP.

Exactly the kinda game I like, high quality 3d and corruption. Hopefully it focuses less on lesbian content in the future as I have no interest at all in it, and it really makes or breaks it. Of course very unfinished but has potential to become something like tomie wants to get married.

Version 02.

Not ready for release. There is a map, but it isn't at all clear how to use it. The MC will go to various unlabelled places and it's unclear whether anything should happen or its just filler. It takes a lot of clicking around just to discover where the MC's apartment is. There's a quest button but I never saw anything listed as a quest.

Visuals are totally average. Story seems non-existent. Gameplay is confusing and irritating. The dev needs to decide what they want to players to have fun doing in this game, and then make it possible for them to do so.
