They literally banned the guy confronting them on this stuff. Because that sends the right message.Back to just lying though.

What Pasix says here is objectively false. Looking in Galatea's lore she was explicitly designed to look like a child to help childless couples feel as though they had a daughter.

Also not stated so much in this, but rather heavily implied she's meant to look twelve. (or at least this is a bad look even if that wasn't the intent considering her design intent.)

I kinda admire them for not wanting to go full hog on deleting everything from the past and sorta owning up to it, but at the least they need to read it and address it properly. Just trying to lie their way around it won't get them out of this situation. You guys can still read these entries in the lore channel in their discord.
Edit: Shit lol he changed his message literally as I was clipping and posting this. Here's his new message is responding to someone else. Lool nevermind in the time I took to priase him for not going whole hog deleting the discord messages he's literally pruned like 10-15 messages from that steam thread. They're back to deleting anything too scathing in steam. And anything to do with Helius stating Galatea is a loli like in that message he responded to. Guess they really don't want that reaching steam in anyway.
They just need to move all new experiments to gallery mode, and everyone will be happy. It's literally that simple. Also looks like me may be without updates for a while as harem mode is being reconstructed. Either because it's spaghetti and runs like crap or because it was already cracked and needs new drm I'd guess.

This whole situation around this game makes me sad. The same way that I felt when the Breeding Season began to show the same symptoms. Also looks like me may be without updates for a while as harem mode is being reconstructed. Either because it's spaghetti and runs like crap or because it was already cracked and needs new drm I'd guess.

Yeah I got permabanned from the steam forum a while ago including having my posts deleted, with no cause given and the message I had was about the character bundles in it, even now the thread I responded to which stayed up after my ban have now apparently disappeared as well, very curious and looking at the pinned General Discussion thread last time I looked it had a whole lot more posts in it now suddenly a bunch of them are removed. Of course the posts supporting the F2P mechanics and such remain but any criticsm that is valid is now being removed.Edit: Shit lol he changed his message literally as I was clipping and posting this. I feel ya.Man, I played the beta for like 10 minutes because I had some free time, all the different stores, cool downs, unintuitive interface, the whole thing was a cluster. Just logged out and uninstalled. I am curious where it will go from here.
I really wish they had just done a single player campaign where you could just capture the creatures and take them back for experimentation on the station. Trying to train or test them to unlock different positions.
Pretty much. I tried to start in Steam proton on Linux as well which they said was supported, got stuck at the anti cheat on every version of proton I tried. Booted on windows and tried again, but the mouse kept disconnecting from the camera and following the instructions to reconnect camera movement to the mouse didn't work.I feel ya.
The game is an utter failure. I too tried for a bit and was far too annoyed with the downgraded graphics, the continuous inability to start harem mode, the consistent fatal error crashes and the overall the direction of the game is a shitshow. I uninstalled and tried again with each update to find they didnt solve anything. I have literally given up. I dont think any game, AAA or indie, has failed this hard and tried so hard NOT to listen to feedback. I would even say that if EA knew about this game they might start taking notes on how to further rip off customers and get their money.
I'll try based on my limited knowledge. Can anyone give me a rundown of whats happened? I played V.0.34 from this forum a while back and didnt realize it was a very old version. What happened, why does it seem like every is against it now. Anyone can either link me to another comment or give me a quick tldr?
I only read part of your first paragraph and quit. They implemented multiplayer because Covid-19 shut down their Colorado motion capture studio and a Japanese company offered to do they work for them in exchange for a multiplayer implementation. It had nothing to do with Steam. Dig through the Patreon posts and you'll find that.I'll try based on my limited knowledge.
At a point the head developer, Helius, made the decision to take the game from a single player with the gallery mode that you see in version 0.34 and change it to a multiplayer game. The reason given for this was because they had to release the game on steam, and steam has been very consistent with denying and pulling games that feature content like bestiality, rape, and lolicon which this game has all three. By moving it to multiplayer, they argued if an issue came up with steam, they could pull the content in question to cool things down. Naturally, a lot of the community supporting them was wary of this both because it was unlikely this would work to satisfy steam, and because of the privacy and longevity issues of having so much of the game's content based around third party servers. The spicy content would also not be made available in the gallery mode, soley the online mode.
Despite the real concerns that steam would force them to start pulling content like the loli character, they continued to sell costume packs and use her and other spicy content in advertising on patreon. Now almost a year later, she isn't in the beta with lots of other content that will likely be pulled by steam telling them "it could be an issue down the road." The developers never give clear answers on this, keeping everything vague.
At some point, they also decided to add Easy Anti Cheat to prevent greifing on the multiplayer.
Since then there have been several changes made to the game to intoduce a grinding game play loop to unlock scenes, characters, monsters, cosmetics, etc in the multiplayer. You have to grind for likes from other players, unlock blueprints, research points, etc. There is also an internal store to the game you purchase with likes that has cool downs to prevent users from just grinding likes and buying everything. There are also daily challenges to complete to unlock content. The entire thing has been remade towards a microtransaction and gacha grind fest angering lots of the backers. They have also talked about introducing a fee to be paid for accessing the multiplayer, then season passes 4 times a year to get new characters and other content, that is also available via grinding in the game.
Its turned into a microtransaction game with paywalls to encourage people to buy the game passes instead of grinding. While you cannnot purchase in game currency (yet), it is clearly being designed for that.
Then add on poor communication from developers, snide attitudes towards backer's concerns, constant thread locking, banning, and disimmsing on the steam forums and their discord. And the constant technical glitches and poor performance because the game has not been properly optimized.
All in all, they had something great, then changed its direction for bullshit reasons, and now are changing the entire game to a gacha grind multiplayer game to make as much money as possible from horny players.
Edit: I'm sure I'm missing stuff but this is what I remember mostly.

Why Harem Mode?
Steam has been cracking down on the conventional "patch for uncen" approach adopted by visual novel publishers and demanding equal treatment for steam buyers.
Fetishes that may be potentially controversial will be harem mode exclusive. If something goes south instead of pulling off the entire game we can immediately disable the contents in question to defuse the situation. While I don't really believe things will go down that way, it's better to stay precautious, especially after the pxxxhub holocaust.
Besides, we do have some pretty brilliant designs for the harem mode if I may say so myself, and the expanded framework we built for it allows us to fulfill way wilder steamy imaginations.
Thanks for the explaination. Unfortunately its just the classic of being "consumed" by the greed. They are clearly already earning a lot of money on their Patreon, but now they are just trying to milk it for as much money as possible. Ive heard of developers delaying release on purpose to grab the last few months of patreon money, and people straight up not delivering a playable game at all. But pulling a 180 like this is almost one of a kind, at least from my experience. How many people is on their team? I doubt a lot of people would like to see their project get fucked like this. But with how they are treating their community, maybe they are just firing the people who dont agree, or this was simply the plan all along, and all the developers were in on it from the start.I'll try based on my limited knowledge.

Honestly, I don't know why they are all going along with it other than money. There are quite a few people working on it, developers from game studios in China. Helius loves to brag that they have developers from the makers of Genshin impact, etc. They also have snagged a couple animators that made blender porn on Patreon before. IDK what those animators think about what is going on, maybe they just want a steady paycheck. Thanks for the explaination. Unfortunately its just the classic of being "consumed" by the greed.
