It's kind of admirable, really. How this Dan guy has his formula down pat. Can ship out a new fast food quality game each month, and get juuuust enough money so he can keep the lights on and make the next game.
As one striking improvement I've noticed, this side scrolling method he chose is leagues better than the top down he's been doing. I can actually walk through a door and not worry about wonky hit boxes (or whatever you wanna call it)

Every time I try to help, I fail. The timer just runs even though it seems I am pressing the correct arrows. If someone could explain this, I would be grateful.

If he actually put effort into making a longer game with a bigger cast and a longer "story", we could got ourselves a competition for NLT games, given that they got their own start doing the same thing.
..."could" being the key word here, dude's been putting out these mediocre games practically monthly in a poor attempt to keep himself afloat.
If he can't even keep his promise to release an uncensor patch somewhere, I doubt his credit as a developer regarding his condition.
Edit: I take back whatever positive reinforcement I gave to Dan, he uses Comic Sans unironically, it's unsalvageable.
