I was happy when DecentMonkey put a new goal for a faster update. I did not expect the reverse to happen and time for the new version get change from every 40 days to every 50-60 days

I have been following the game for over two years now and in that time his updates have always been spaced from around 40 days to the next being around 50 days. This 40 day followed by a 50 day wait has been consistent with only his break mid last year followed by his hospitalisation delaying the cycle. He informed everyone well in advance last year of his break. This update looks like it will be around 60 days from version 8. This version release was an expected 40 day cycle.

Unless he had a personal issue like an illness or family problem it looks as if he took some extended time off during the Christmas, new year period. If any developer deserved a break it is Decent Monkey.

The only issue is that he acted as if it was going to be business as usual in late December. He gave an early status update around Christmas with the spoiler on new years eve. Many patreons who were in the $20 or $30 range would have expected an update in January. He and almost anyone associated with the game development went radio silent for a couple of weeks in early January and suddenly all were back a few days before this last spoiler.

So in the end this delay is only 10 days longer than his 50 day cycle. I think us fans of the game have it pretty good. Imagine If Decent Monkey developed this game like L&P does with A Wife And Mother. They are going so nuts with the endless wait for a new render of the said wife and mother's thigh, that they are discussing the meaning behind a missing handbag from the latest teaser.

It seems that the new game has effected the volume of content per update. Though he claimed with the last update he was still not at his 100% workflow yet since his illness.

What I'm asking myself is if the new game will became his main game soon, because of the great reception that it's getting: it already has 700 patrons. Although, DM isn't the writer of that game, so I think his preference for Fashion Business will remain until its end.

Yes I was aware of the reasons for the new game. I was questioning why he would take on the extra work during a period that he is recovering from a serious illness. He could of delayed work on the new game until he recovered.

One big factor in favour of Fashion Business staying his number 1 priority is that it is the game he chose to make. I agree that it will most likely remain his preference.This new game as you stated is a response to Steam banning Fashion Business.
