Where did you get this? The reason it might seem that way is because Hell Kingdom has the most side routes so the opinion is split much more compared to other regions.
I didn't really count, but I think that Homaspernia characters appear less often. For instance, how long was it since last Pyeka or Yakuu update? Not sure if Kendra really counts because she had her route merged with Maryen for a while.
I guess it's just because the total count of character is immense for having 2-3 per update.

Homas characters get their updates as often as the rest of the characters (every 8-9 updates), the reason it might seem that way is because of sponsorships: but that's not unique to Homas characters. Other than Margarita and 2 others, the rest are lucky to get even 2 sponsors per year.

Makla's problem is that she's the latest addition of a niche that is very saturated with the likes of Yakuu, Kendra and Nyxmay + she has the least content out of all of them.

The person I responded to explicitly mentions Homaspernia routes in general. Even individually Pyeka's route ranks pretty high and if you add up all the regional routes' votes it's the region that gets the most votes. (because again, it has the most heroines)

As far as Yakuu is concerned, from what we know she does seem to be a warmonger so yeah... What you can do is try to make her more merciful or keep her as she is (Yakuu2 subroute vs Yakuu1 subroute). While she isn't my favorite by a long shot, her route does add a unique perspective to the game which is getting to play a bonafide "evil" path in the game. But who knows, maybe that could change and she actually does have a reason to start a war.
I was saying about characters being disliked, and I was saying its mainly those two who aren't popular in the subscriber polling. Makla is dead last repeatedly even when she gets new content added for her, when usually every character sees a significant boost in response from backers. I'm no longer subbed, but was for years. Quantitiy of content isn't the issue, but quality.

Same with Yakuu. Both seem fairly flat as characters. That's why Yakuu is routinely near the bottom as well despite having more dev made content than all but a couple other characters (as ones like Bez/Marg/etc are constantly backed by top donors). Form (tone) vs substance is the issue with them. There is little nuance to Yakuu. Maybe I find the manner in how the MC acts almost borderline comedic/exaggerated/parody with her in slave/defiant routes. More of a "not my thing" for me and many others with her than "she's garbo" or something. But it makes her (atm) fairly boring as a character.

We have characters that are getting crazier/darker (Maryen/Eliette) and more liking Kendra despite her unrelenting sadistic nature that they're getting increasing feedback that is positive. Its just the tone people don't like for their characters. Like I said you basically have to be a totally hapless sub to prefer Yakuu over ALL the other characters, and Makla... I'm not sure what anyone's appeal would be for her over any other character, and the player polls reflect that Its not that they're evil (as there are others who can be argued that, especially Eliette dancing around the notion that she likely enjoyed being in the purification armies, and it was likely indiscriminate).

I disagree with this. Kendra only saw a spike in popularity in polls because her sadism was considerably toned down in her latest chapters, she was arguably pretty cruel at the start even compared to Yakuu. (e.g. Calling Yakuu a monster even when you first see her is a good option, whilst saying anything mean to Kendra used to be an instant game over).

Breaking it down I would say Yakuu likes the MC to have a spine but doesn't tolerate disobedience, while Kendra wants the MC to be spineless but doesn't care about obedience as much.

If given the option similar things would be a game over if said to Yakuu as well though. Oddly cumming with Yakuu early on NOT being a game over is a big outlier for her overall character.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The problem with Yakuu is her relatively one dimensional personality atm. Maybe with her homeland/more backstory coming into the plot that will change, but lack of character aside "grumpy" doesn't play well if its the constant theme all the time. Matter of taste I suppose. You clearly like Yakuu, so I'm not negging your take on her, so I'm just going to have to say I disagree as well. But again, with the caveat that my view could change as her content expands over time.

Kendra was at least interesting with her borderline insanity (some of which we now know why she's mentally broken via Maryen's route), but at least with Kendra it was entertaining. I don't get the same vibe with that. Maybe I enjoy the aspect of baffling Kendra with the responses saying you'd find her sadism hot to be funny.

I agree with you. Plus I really think the game could use some....downscaling.

Here's Giant Guardians 0.3.41 for anyone who was asking for an older version (last version to still include the Guest Update iirc)

I looked back through it and yeah, there are some major differences in terms of dialogue in Bevzy's Route and big art changes happend to Naya's Route VS latest version. And for those who want it, I think I still have the OLD demo as well somewhere
Looks like most of old versions were eventually removed. Kemono has dead links for 0.1.2, 0.1.3 and so on, but none of them seem to work.

The game is not gonna be downscaled because it's intended to be a super long term project. Right now the roadmap seems to be to focus on finishing some of the existing routes first then rotate them out to bring on newer routes (timfalme's teased routes, sea area routes like sinanla that's been in limbo for years at this point..)

I mean, the game could use some more focus, for example. The main "Kingdom" is still constantly seeing expansion. >In the Form of new routes. Despite the water kingdom not being touched at all. A lot of people have already argued, and talked about it. But basically it feels like the game will more than likely end up with the good old "abandoned" tag at some point.

Not while they can keep getting money from it.

Just a notice. Ever since GG started as a project, 0 new people were involved in the development. After how many? 3 years? 5? Doesn't matter, the game grew much bigger than what one dev could handle. Artical would not do any improvements to the formula as long as it works.

yea but that's beside the point. many think the game will more or less end up as a years long incomplete project, with most routes simply not having a complete ending. Feels like it'll more or less end up like this: One of them has some sort of issue/no passion/alternative job and can no longer continue the game => game gets abandoned.

There is no sign that the devs are looking to stop making this any time soon. Generally there are telltale signs before a dev drops a project (e.g radio silence, inconsistent updates...) and the GG devs have been pumping out bimonthly updates for years at this point. I understand the concern considering this is one of the few if not the only giantess-themed games, but I wouldn't worry about it as much: they make a decent amount of money and they seem to be passionate about it.

At some point somebody in the devs' life within their friends/family/loved ones are gonna catch wind of this game and connect the dots, or the devs have life stuff come up. It's the inevitable fate of games that focus on niche fetishes and take too long to develop. There's only so many update cycles that they can do while keeping things under wraps IRL unless they live under a rock.
