What do u expect him to say? There will be some kind of devlog in the next three months stating everything is working perfectly fine and then he'll go radio silent again. I think the intention of "warn" was her being told there was food, it's just stated in a cautionary way instead of literal. You don't say "There's food downstairs... be careful!" That would be a warning. Doesn't change the fact that she's an adult who apparently can't make her own food. Does Amelie lock the fridge and cupboards so she's the only one who can prepare a meal? If she does, she must be the actual villain of this story. If not, Amelie is a failure of a mother because her children can't feed themselves.
I'm just trying to be silly anyway. However, I don't know about following chapters, but chapter 4 has been so painful for me to read I've pretty much stopped playing. It sucks because I still want to continue.
