No you see that would not be true because ,most people that watch porn are males. Most males are interested in females,not in being a female,but watching or imagining interacting with said female,which means ther eis a much higher demand for females. When comes to games,alot of the time is the player who puts himself(or herself) into the MC shoes. I feel like there has been a misunderstanding in all this,I'm not against or opposed to a female MC,sure I am downloading the game. I was stating the obvious,to why there is so few female MC games.

Except most video game players do not "put themselves into the MC's shoes", as most gamers are perfectly fine playing characters that are not projections of themselves. Even where you can customize characters, there are so many male gamers playing with female avatars that "tits or gtfo" was a standard response to someone playing a female character and claiming to be female.

Give it a shot still! I don't think this dev will make you jump through a bunch of dicks just to initiate the lesbian path (unlike some other devs...). I managed to brush off every potential option leading to dick in my first playthrough. Besides, that's the "pure lesbian" path, isn't it? To be able to play through on a primarily lesbian path with no need to get dicked just to get there. I think these devs will provide multiple such routes.

Another reason there aren't as many female protagonist games (with decent story) is because most guys can't place themselves into a girls shoes. Feel their emotions, understand how they think and see things from the opposite perspective. Personally, I think Erosion did a wonderful job so far, and if the game pans out as it's been foreshadowed thus far, it will be right up there with the top VN's on the site.

many of us don't want to place ourselves in the shoes of a male mc.
I personally don't do it. I just view it as a story from the outside.
and getting the female perspective is much better for me.

Was that the WOW study? Considering the complexities in community dynamics inherent in games like WOW, there's a myriad of reasons why those numbers are low. Wait til they do studies on single player games. Or even fighting games. I've seen guys pick female characters every time they don't want to be taken seriously. Which really means that self-identification with his character is low on his priority list.

The vast majority of video games force you to play one character or another, even the best-selling ones. It didn't stop them from acquiring broad audiences. Will women stop playing Mario just because they can't play the princess? Did it stop boys from playing Lara Croft?

Sadly, this is very true. It's also why so many of the "lesbian" tagged games make you jump through so many dick hoops to get to the lesbian story, and the prevalence of awful female protagonists who get raped and groped every second out of sheer stupidity.

But I think we are beginning to see a more sophisticated breed of dev coming up. It's not impossible for a male author to make a compelling female protagonist, or for a female author to make a male one. My favorite example is George Eliot, a woman writing under a male pen name, who is said to have written her male characters much better than her female ones. Must have been hilarious before she was discovered to be female.

No,but them games are not asking the player if he wants to suck dick....
Edit: Also WOW is much better example of a game,because the player chooses them selves to take on that role,in what is a role playing game...If you are using single player games,your statistics would go out the window because the player has no choice in most cases.

Why do males complain about playing a female MC in a hentai game and then go and create a female characters in games with gender choices and character customization(mostly MMORPGS). Nobody cares about a female MC in non sexual games. I think the point is being missed here. The problem with games with a female MC is not even about the female MC, but what a female MC generally implies about the game itself. There are some great games on here with a FMC that do a great job of showing the female perspective (Crimson Grey 1.5 is a good example).

The problem is that the vast majority of female protagonist games are not about exploring a female character in an interesting way, but rather the game is simply a mirror of many male protagonist games in which you go out, look for, and engage in sex. In a MMC game, it is a game where you go and bang chicks. In a FMC (non-lesbian) game, it is a game where you go out and suck cocks and get banged by dudes.

Games are enjoyable because in them you do something you want, something you fantasize about. In Minecraft, you explore an interesting world, gather resources, and create structures (good times). You can play as a MMC or FMC in that game and it's the same experience. In MMC sex games and FMC lesbian games you chase women, create relationships and have all kinds of sex with beautiful women (awesome!). It's nice to be male, but female lesbian is great too. However, in most FMC games, you go around sucking dicks and getting gangbanged by dudes (fucking gross). Unless you are a homosexual (or bi but don't want to admit it to yourself) or a strait woman, you are not going to enjoy a game about sucking cocks. THAT is why so many of us are immediately turned off when we see the female protagonist tag. Being a female is not the problem. Playing a game about getting banged by dudes is.
