This game will be abandoned soon if the Developer starts using more subscription protections and not making a good update.
Man, look at what he said here. "Patreon is not a storefront; you aren't paying for a game. You are funding a creator's ambitions".I am always in awe when people drop comments like these, for this should be a fairly simple concept to grasp for anyone who spends more than two minutes thinking about it, let alone someone who actively consumes said content. I'll take a few minutes for what is meant to be an educational reply...
First, a few things you are right about:
- No game's box price should be $300
- Some developers may unnecessarily keep extending the scope of their game
What you are wrong about:
- You are paying for a game (Patreon is not a storefront; you aren't paying for a game. You are funding a creator's ambitions)
- Crowdfunding is a scam(?)
- I am AI, you are AI, my grandma's AI! (If you think AI negates any significant part of the development effort a game like HoS takes, please try making your own game and let me know how many thousands of hours it'll take)
- If you think AI brought the quality of a game to an unacceptable level, then why are you playing in the first place?
With that out of the way, here's why you should rethink your comment:
Creating games is an arduous task, one that requires capital and an immense time commitment (even more so for indie solo devs)
Without people supporting AVN developers, the grim reality is that most adult games you pirate and play for free wouldn't exist. There are no publishers, studios, or investors to help fund and advertise games in this sector. Instead, there's each and every one of you. Some of you play for free, others choose to support (and apparently, others want to see the whole sector go up in flames)
Anyone who chooses to support adult game developers has my utmost respect and, frankly, they should have yours too, for these are the same people funding your porn addiction.
Free players also serve an important purpose by building organic buzz and bringing inherent discoverability/growth which would otherwise be impossible to have in this sector.
Ultimately, the relationship between free players and paid supporters should be synergistic, not antagonistic.
While you sit there and theorize why adult-game devs are a bunch of scamming masterminds, or the reincarnation of evil itself, know that crowdfunding is the only thing that allows creators to take a leap into what is STILL a massive risk that may never pay off the time investment it takes.
If you keep condemning creators, the platforms that allow those creators to exist, or the people that support those creators, then you best be ready to go back to the 2010s and enjoy some Newgrounds flash mini-games! (Those were cool too! But you get the idea...)
I saw the review and it didn't seem to break any rules. Idk why mods are so happy to get rid of negative reviews when developers or fans of the game report them, it happens a lot. This game deserves a 1* rating now, it's weird that the developer used a copy to report the actual review lol.
It will only waste your money and time without bringing any satisfaction when playing adult games.
It is too funny the dev is determined to start using piracy protection on an AI doujinshi game, while none of the characters are his intellectual properties. He is actually pirating Masashi's properties by using AI trained platforms.Man, look at what he said here. "Patreon is not a storefront; you aren't paying for a game. You are funding a creator's ambitions".
I absolutely agree with everything you've said here. But this new business model you've adopted contradicts everything you've said here. I was really more than happy to support you and your ambitions on Patreon. You are doing an awesome job. Your game was coming along very nicely. But this new business model makes it as in your words "buying/paying for the game". You're making your supporters pay for the game now. You're making them BUY your game. Supporting you comes after it now. Your game is incomplete and requires a lot more work to be called a product. I wouldn't pay a single dime to buy an incomplete, unpolished, work in progress product. But when it comes to supporting you, I and I'm sure many more are more than happy and willing to. But this is not supporting anymore. It is simply paying for a product.
Now I am also thinking that I have been too soft about my opinions same for me I might check it but I don't think I will play till it would get good amount of content and I think dev need to be little mature about interaction with players.....hmmm i don't want to say anything more andIt is too funny the dev is determined to start using piracy protection on an AI doujinshi game, while none of the characters are his intellectual properties. The dev might not know one thing, pirates will always stay being pirates, we rather choose to play games for free, not willing to pay. As if the game is under any types of anti-piracy, we would just drop the game and look for some others on the market, or to wait for a cracked version, that's all.
On the other hand, why do we have to pay multiple times for a work-in-process product? In case we wanted to subscribe to the dev, we would just be patient and waiting for the final version or any satisfying version at least.
In fact, many leakers only wants to show off themselves by leaking the game, and the pirate community is helping the dev to bring his game to many new players (some of these new players might want to subscribe to the dev after all). Turning his back against the piracy community is right, yet not a good move. Honestly, I'm not making these hypotheticals, I'm gathering them from video games news statistics.
Anyway, gonna skip the game for a while, until ver 0.20 or even more. It's not worth it to pay at the moment. And I love to see what would happen up next to the game community.

He is also the most serious copyright infringer here lol. It's also funny that he's literally using "ai artist" logic here! I'm happy he's able to make the game but now it's a double edged sword because he probably thinks he "created this art".
Indeed. This game is only getting the attention and money it does because it runs off on a very well known anime IP.It is too funny the dev is determined to start using piracy protection on an AI doujinshi game, while none of the characters are his intellectual properties. Now you can see from my previous comments that I'm very critical of the business model that this dev is following but I actually kinda disagree with you on this take.Indeed. This game is only getting the attention and money it does because it runs off on a very well known anime IP.
If the characters were to be original creations, the game never would have made enough for the dev to be able to full time it. That's because the truth is once you remove the anime IP this game is nothing but pretty still images with text. That's the mid quality of an average AVN out there.
But ppl buy into it simply because it's Naruto/Boruto.
This will be the downfall for him in future. If this keeps going, I would abandon and boycott this game forever. I can play other games where I'm getting provided freely with so many stories and events. The dev really doubled down on his greediness, damn. To anyone supporting him you know the drill, expect to get milked and the game development to drag for literal years and never getting finished. Someone who is willing to go as far as adding anti-piracy protection measures on a work-in-progress game with already different paywalls and tiers knows at least that much.
