Ren'Py - Completed - Housemates [v1.01] [Huli]

Another shelter in place game because there's a virus going around making people horny. I'm in.

Pros:

• A great amount of scenes between the two girls
• The two girls have huge assets and are well-made
• All the H-scenes are animated and done creatively
• There's some fetishes such as nipplefuck and others in here to enjoy
• There's skills to unlock to progress the game further and it doesn't take a whole lot of grinding
• The map is easy to traverse
• The SFX are good
• Around 2-3 hours to complete. Longer if you really read every talking point and get to know the girls which I recommend.

Cons:

• The grind in the beginning does take a bit but it gets easier trust me
• I wish there was an indicator or hint telling you what else there is to unlock for a girl before you escalate to the next stage (maybe there is but I couldn't find one)
• No gallery but it isn't reaaaaalllllyyy needed
• The endgame doesn't feel fulfilling personally, I wish there was more of a payoff

Conclusion:

I really recommend this game. There's clearly a lot of love put into this one and getting to know the characters was a treat. The scenes are great and definitely worth your time.

The artstyle is really great, but that's unfortunately the only good thing in this game.

Every day you try to do some moves on the women and you get skill points for it. You invest those into abilities like "stealth" or "speech" and these skills will unlock more actions that you can do.

However, due to this system, everything is 100% predictable which makes it boring. There are no surprise situations, no things you didn't expect, no casual daily situations that are just hot because of the way they happened.

Instead you know that you've got 30+ points on a skill now that will allow you to grab her boobs. And when you're done, you grind another skill to +XX and then you can grab her ass and so on and so forth.

This is a pity because the setting - being locked in a house with two hot women - would allow for so many hot scenes involving casual daily situations.

Then, this game would highly profit from more women. How about a hot delivery girl that rings the door bell occasionally. Or your "landlords" daughter that comes over and you try to do things in secret. Or you're taken to the police station for a while and can do things with female prisoners or female cop there - you know, stuff like this that breaks up the static gameplay of doing the same 5 things with the same 2 women in the exact same places over and over again.

And yes, you could find story-wise excuses to implement that even in this stay-home-scenario.

Last but not least, and that's a weak point most (but not all) games suffer from:

1. When the MC cums, the animations stop. Bummer. Let the player decide when the animation stops, do cum loops. It's so baffling that almost no dev is thinking of this and everyone just shifts to static images when someone orgasms just because they seen it that way in other games.

2. Sex always ends with the first cum. Why? People can cum multiple times. It's actually hot to see them keep going after cumming in/over the women. But this makes it more predictable:

Titjob -> increase speed -> increase speed -> cum -> static image -> end

*yawn*

Overall a pretty good game of its kind. The art is satisfying, I do not mind the art style. I'm a sucker for big titties and asses plus the animation for when they are in motion in the game is enjoyable, especially some of the scenes where the MC takes the women from behind, really well done. The story and dialog give a comedy-drama vibe. It's unserious and goofy so it makes you laugh but also includes serious conversation topics when you get to know the women better. Overall a good game to play one handed, can't wait for his next game.

Amazing game. Crazy good animations, and mixing daily interactions with sex is something I encourage every dev to do, it's a secret lifehack to a good game. Both characters look amazing and u explore them in every possible way and position so that's nice. Point system can be a bit grindy at the start but it's not too bad, u can be practically maxed out in 1-2 hours max and enjoy all the content the game offers. Overall just a very nice and enjoyable game for vanilla bros.

good game, hot scenes and likeable characters. not too grindy and plenty of h activities. pacing is a bit inconsistent but manages to not feel short or drag for too long. overall a pleasant experience.

my only petty complain is that there isn't a third ending where you can stay with both.

Not only is the style unique, I like the stories, they have a positive attitude to life. In addition, updates are constantly being made and there is an increase in quality and mechanics over the course of the game or the development cycle. I hope for many more games from Huli.

About this game I like the most is its updating rate beside its own good attributes. If it was a shitty game updating this frequently it wouldn't made the same impact.
Animations are top notch and very detailed.
Art is excellent.
Storyline and events are going on spot.

Hey! This is real good stuff!
I wasn't expecting much, but this is helluva nice surprise. Nice looking art, great animations, kinky and simple story, lots of agency, okayish orthographics (nothing much, among of what I spotted), sympathetic characters with distinct "personalities". Everything is good. Knows its identity and delivers what it aims at. Which is good!

You really should check this one out. Oh, and don't forget too follow/support dev, if you liked it. (ofc, if your IRL situation lets you)

So I have to say this developer does understand that less can be more. A very straightforward simple game with just two female characters. both are easy to corrupt and have them developed feelings for the MC. I read some talking about the grind but you can literately grind the stats you need in this game in like 10 minutes. If you like 2dcg games that are easy to play you will enjoy this game.

I am giving this game 5 stars but if I could I would give it 4,5 stars just because I feel since there are only 2 characters here it would be nice if there were different ways you could get them like love, corruption and mind break. Could give the game replay value. Also I only cared about the milf, sorry Ruth.

This game is gold. While it's grindy, every other aspect makes up for it. I played the previous game too, and it follows the same formula: grind and unlock scenes. However, it is so well-made that anything less than 5 stars wouldn't have cut it.

Okay, this one got me. I saw Five 5 star reviews and thought "how can a game with such silly art and a threadbare plot be a 5/5?" and I got slapped in the face.

The first few minutes are exhausting, you think to yourself "oh its just another fuckboy lame ass protag with a landlady stuck indoors plotline" but then you actually start playing and...do these women have actual personalities and backstories??? Yeah! They act like actual adults, and have real problems that real milfs would have, written really well! And it turns out, your character has some hidden depth for their fuckboyness too.

Its quite easy to max out on skill points through repeated actions, and the sex acts themselves are plenty titillating. I personally enjoy the plethora of sleep sex acts and the nipple fucks, but its clear to see there's plenty there for different types of people. The art isn't the best, but the fact that its western amateur-esque art, gives it a unique feel, and it certainly gets the job done. The artist does a fantastic job with exaggerated proportions.

But while the sex acts are nice, the real selling point is talking with the milfs, and learning their backstory, and very slowly warming up to you. Its done with a pretty damn good pace that feels natural, and with the "lust disease" excuse of the plot, the sex aspect doesn't feel misaligned with the slow progress of getting closer.

All in all, it ended up being short but well written, and I genuinely enjoy the female leads, I'm looking forward to seeing it completed!

id probably rate the game a 4 but feel like my issues may be more subjective but overall i enjoyed what was there

strong art style, has animations, good setting (trapped in a home with beautiful women due to a pandemic) and theres a solid amount of scenes for being pretty early in development

main issues are that the pacing is pretty bad, dialogue isnt great and theres barely any build up (which is normal for this devs games) and the game can feel a bit grindy. the game could do with quality of life additions but it wasnt that bad to play

ver. 0.05.1: Simple premise, intuitive mechanics, well-designed sandbox with minimal grind. So many animations. I love how everything you do (even failing and getting slapped) results in some reward. I'm giving 5 stars because I want this game to get more exposure and I think the creator deserves more support.

2 fixable issues:
1. The buttons that go nowhere should be visibly disabled (like just make them grey or something.) One of the first things this game does is tell you to 'convince' someone to let you into the bathroom, but after spending 40 skillpoints to do that, you find out that convince button just goes nowhere.
2. There should be a little bit of dialogue that plays before you do a type of sex act with a character for the first time. It was jarring to go from rubbing ruth's shoulders to groping her naked breasts without at least a "You wanna massage my boobs? okay." A couple sentences would go a long way towards selling the corruption arc for each character.

This game has quality animations, and quality sound design. The progression is a little slow, but it's not unbearable. Never met a Huli game I didn't like. Personally, I can't wait for more content to be added.

I'm a huge (if quite recent) fan of Huli's work. This game doesn't disappoint, if you liked his other games and their animations. Splendid work!

I play porn games mostly for the porn and not the immersion or storytelling or whatever other people might be into. I like these games to be concise and somewhat straight to the point. I don't mind grinding most of the time, if it's sexy. This game is not grindy, it's actually pretty rewarding how fast and furious the skill and love points come at you. The text outside the sex scenes is brief enough and puts you in the mood, lets you get to know the characters a bit and sets up the story. The text during the sex scenes is always very descriptive, pervy and hot! And yeah, the porn itself is great, I love these animations!

They're also already quite plentiful (v0.05.1) and it's only going to get better from here. I've got nothing else I'd want from Huli, except more, always more.

Again, great job and please keep giving us scenes and games to look forward to!

Unreal how little attention this dev has received considering the quality of their work. The excellent implementation of animations and sound effects for scenes in their previous game should be all you need to consider giving this game a shot on pedigree alone.

You only need to look at their previous game to see that this one has a very similar style and gameplay loop which lets me confidently guarantee that this will reach certified banger status with some more content updates.

Dev has mastered their formula and I hope can now look to improvise in ways that will contribute to their vision. I would personally hope that would manifest as a longer narrative with additional settings added but I understand if that would compromise on the groundwork they have already laid for the game which can be inferred from the scene menu.

Housemates excels in its art, excellent animation, and sound design. Gameplay loop is relatively simple with minimal grinding required. Story is still developing as the game does, but if the previous game is any indication, it should be tight and well put together.
