It's complicated, really.

The timeline is that there was original VH, then some of the devs come to disagreements and split ways between original VH and Katteban.

Then the original team went into a lull and a bunch of 4channers tried to take up authority of original VH, turning it into something else.

Next, what few were left of the original team came back and started work on pre-4chan VH again, but quickly gave up on it in favor of remaking it in a new engine and continuing from there.

Meanwhile, Omoidashi (Katteban guy) also grew sick of the old engine around the same time as the other original devs. He dropped Katteban and made a new, separate game that was basically Katteban, but with little to no gameplay. Basically just a cutscene gallery. Omoidashi eventually got fed up with the old engine entirely and decided to drop this game, too.

Now, he's making Violated Princess, which is a complete remake and rewrite of VH. Supposedly with Serena as the only playable character. (Maybe Nana will be playable? Omoidashi sometimes does things with her.)

So, original VH is all but abandoned. However, there are two different flavors of remake on the way.
