Sorry for typos etc. in advance.
A solid update as always, though, if I have to be honest I was expecting this update to be more focused on coup's aftermath - as in rebuilding the city, dealing with Cass and all the other(s) that has been affected by the coup and the plotters (extensively, not 10 sec execution scenes), affairs of the kingdom, state of the council etc. Yet I can't complain about what we got. Afterall, it is one other way to show the 'aftermath' and more.
Previous updates, I was suspecting of Queen, that she was up to something with Alaina that involves Elves in some way but now I am not so sure, that would be 'too' expected from them I suppouse and therefore would be very simple story line...? Anyway, lets leave it at that and get to the main case here. The most important thing we learned about Alaina in this update is that she was in the court way before the Queen, probably came with the Cass' mother if the past shown by the Mysterious Woman is real. Also one other thing we learned about her is that while others volunteered to travel with MC in his exile, she was ordered by the King, why? Did he simply wanted to drive her away from the court or wanted Prince to be protected from the Elves?
How did she deceive Cass in the first place, did she talk about her mom, but to what end? Only to escape possible execution? I mean, she is a powerful mage, she could have escaped without deceiving her, even with the unconscious Queen beside her. While she was speaking with Cass in the dungeons -in present timeline that M.W shows- she said that ''I've been sharing my most intimate knowledge with you'' , well 'intimate' means many thing while 'intimate knowledge' doesnt. AFAIK it can only mean 'secrets', secret about whom or what? Givin' this is Cass she is talking to its probably about the King or the former Queen.
Anyway, a little heads-up about the foresayings of the game: As of now there is only two that has been told to Prince and both is very alike yet... contradicting at some point. Firstly, both of them agrees on that there are snakes has been strangling us, coiling around us... While M.W says it takes power to cut their heads and hinting us it is the right thing to do, Crone is hinting that it is the easy way and will lead us to ruin. Also, Crone is using Elvish titles of the Prince. This 'Crone' may be the Elven spirit Queen talked about in the last update?

I mean, it's pretty obvious if you don't assault her you'll be on the opposite path. Assuming you helped her out of prison and let her work with Alaina. As for if the love route will actually progress. You would have to ask the dev if she'll get more scenes. Personally, I don't think Val is big enough in the grand scheme of things. So I think her content might be scarce.
i am thinking its the m.w. that is the elven spirit she is in the forest that queen say is the last refuge blessed by myrtha also another thing strange is the white coronation is the only one that gets you the m.w. happy if you killed cass. they both are the one the queen put crown on you could see the queens ancestors are happy you remove something that could stand in way of whatever the queen is planning, but if you do the red coronation which is at its basic killing cass m.w. says it a pity you're not yet capable of a resolute decision

I hope one of the endings on the Magic Weaver path is where Elis starts opening portals & makes a harem of Elin's & hopefully his mothers.

I hadn't tried other routes when the time I wrote this. So I just played the 'Killing Cass' route in the morning and it looks like Ludwig ain't happy we killed Cass unlike M.W . Though in the path we choose not to kill Cass he dies and reincarnate into a cat bod and tells us that 'the mistress' will show herself and answer our questions. Is M.W 'the mistress' he talks about, if it is why he thinks opposite on the matter of Cass?
Another thing I noticed in 'Killing Cass' route is that M.W says there is 'another blind snake (so there is only two snakes according to her or she simply doesn't talk about the third one...?) coils around us - the one behind all of ours misfortunes, pulling the strings, unaware that she herself is a puppet' unlike the Crone who said there were three snakes and they were only watching our moves (well Cass certainly acted so this kinda irrevelant as of now) and if we kill one of the snakes remaining ones will strangle us yet eliminating all of them will lead us to abyss. So if we get back to the 'mistress' Ludwig talks about it is probably the Crone, both talk about maintaining the balance in some way while M.W thinks the opposite clearly. Though, ofcourse M.W could have basically captured his soul and trap it in a cat bod and she is the mistress he talks about y'know. And anyway, who is the 'another blind snake' M.W talks about, Alaina? King fits the bill but M.W says 'she'. She is the one who advises the king about exiling the Prince afterall.
There are two versions of present shown by M.W depending on whether Cass is alive or not. In the route Cass is dead Alaina talks to Conrad and saying someone is threating Prince's life and calls him to a belltower. Lets say she speaks true: who may that be? Though there is a possibility she wants to lure him there and kill him, ain't she saved him once in previous update, why would she kill him now? She may want to manipulate him but on the expenses of whom? Alaina's plans may have changed based on Cass' state, Crone said if we kill one of the snakes others will act and M.W says another one is strangling us rn, so there is that.
Also don't forget, the second time Alaine showed us the past (the past where Prince poked the eye of the Cass) she defends Cass against the king and advise him to exile MC. Cass and Alaina, what or how is their relationship exactly? I would say she is the one who manipulated her from the very beginning but she was beside the MC whole time AFAIK.

I really didn't care for the whole portal side story. Especially strange to squeeze in this experiment in the middle of our journey West. It just seems too disconnected from the medieval concerns of the main story. There isn't even an underlying reason or motivation that requires us to mess around with alternate realities. Just cause Ellin wants to.

It's the mage path, if you're nerd or warrior you can have fun with Elin.
Instead of a good battlemage we got pretty lights and a multiversal comedy show...
Yeah there really isn't any reason to even meddle with the portals (MC ain't interested either), well except Elin wants too, i'd like a option for my MC to say 'no thanks'...

i do think Ludwig's mistress is the crone or someone that think like her, leaning towards the forest nymph or spirit of that forest he sends you to meet in beginning. M.w. doesnot really answer any question only gives us more to ask.
for the crone i thought at first reading the three snakes was 1) Akar working for Cass 2) Alaina working for at first queen now ? 3) Ludwig / ? (King at first )

i think Conrad is loyal to the golden order, will do whatever the king orders him to door what tradition demands. he is just 2 much unknown, queen and Cass know something about him at time i just thought it was he in not interested in women and Cass would blackmail him over it. I dont think he has any loyalty to any of the snakes. Only time he said he would do something was if he finds out you betrayed the king. But like you said if you kill one snake others will act, Alaina saved him before you killed Cass, after killing she may want to remove him. i dont think Alaina wants to kill him, (only bc i dont think he works for one of the snakes could be 100% wrong) think she is manipulate him against the last snake for her own goals if it is manipulation would think its last snake she tell him want to kill prince maybe Ludwig or his mistress why she doesnt want to say right away. M.w. and crone make look like Alaina is one of the snakes watching his every move and making moves only if you killed Cass and if you dont she just visits Cass (no movement).
think both Alaina and Cass want the king removed Cass blames king for her mother death. Alaina i think wants elves more rights or restore the old elven ways so better to have mc as king. For why she defend Cass over mc think she want mc exiled so she could better manipulate mc she was only one order to go with mc into exile
in my own head canon till proven otherwise i think Alaine demanded king to marry elven queen to save him (past vision). If you guess Sybilla must have died around 2-4 years before mc is born Cass is only 2-5 years old then mc. in teens Cass hangs with the twins. Before that queen doesnt see Cass as family cant see Cass around baby twins much but can see Alaina taken a 2-5 year old Cass under her wings just to manipulate for her own goals.

Also is it better to pick the start that allows you to sleep with the vampire? Bookworm, mage or warrior seemed kind of a not important choices, but have an all powerful vampire as an ally seems like a no-brainer.
