They don't seem to understand that you don't need to have animations. It is an ongoing trend yes but still images are perfectly fine. They waste more time trying to do an animation that they barely have much understanding of when they should focus on the story and the rest of the game.

I've done Koikatsu before, I know how hard it is to start up learning to do animations with the Studio. It's more tedious work than anything. Koitatsu Studio is great and has a lot of tools to work with.
