Simple and beautiful, just like it's main character.
There's nothing fancy in it, on the contrary: it's as if this game was set out as an example of how basic an RPG Maker game can possibly get without crossing down the line of being highly enjoyable.
And that's the not-so-common appeal in my opinion, hence high rating. Like a good black coffee - where nothing extra is not a flaw, but exactly the point, making it good.
Good art. Straightforward progression, easy to unlock and not to miss scenes.
The biggest disappointment I'd say that it's relatively short/fast.
Now, part of the reason for that is that the game doesn't force you to waste your time on insignificant stuff: you don't do battle with every random enemy, you don't have to grind or get lost in the labyrinths; clearing dungeons is a breeze. This is a good thing.
However, in the light of that, can't help but wish there was such a signigicant amount of good stuff as to positively compensate the aforementioned "un-wasted" time and have you spend it on that, instead. How amazing that would've been? Especially since there's no "battle-fuck"?
Unfortunately, that's not the case. Plot and corruption progress very swiftly. There's not a huge deal of content - neither by a sheer amount, nor by some smart system of diversity. Still retains nice tiny repeatable scenes, so the town doesn't turn into a graveyard.
At the moment of writing, it's "blessed" with the MTL. It's not great (duh), but it's bearable.
If you're already traumatized by it and afraid the amount of conversations you're going to understand will be closing in on 0% - don't fret.
The meaning of everything is not lost at all, it's just clumsy. I (and probably you, too) have seen worse.
