You know, as many people have all ready said, Sure NN is what brought me to this site, and the early days of KOD were fantastic. I absolutely adored it and was one of the few times playing an independent character that could be a switch when it was the best option was phenomenal. I was even a married man at the time so tons of fun inspiring ideas. Here's the deal tho, we were all ready, most of us, ready to say goodbye we just needed them to stop milking us and it does seem like a lot of it falls onto Nomo. It sucks because many people would have happily supported him and hsi art. Now I can understand depending on where yhou live and wht your life is like that it can be hard if this is your mainstay or god knows what other complications. I've checked t his forum periodically for so long since I got out of basic in like 2018 it feels good in a way to actually have it closed. Though I never bit the bullet and started writing some of my own ideas after talking endless shit on what the writing became it was a fun, magical time even if it decayed into a soulless gargbage fest of what could have been. I hope genuinely Nomo gets to wherever he can be healthy but thank god I hadn't given Hreinn another dime for years.

Much thanks to the guy sharing the messages from the Patreon.
Ye we saw this coming. Sad it ended and ye Monsinne is right, nobody cares about his writing, it's good he can admit it so he can improve.

There seems to have been a new update on the patreon just now, literally. Would somebody mind sharing it?

Hey guys, Monsinne with another one of those stream-of-consciousness updates:

First off we really appreciate all the kind words and messages and support we/I've received. It's truly appreciated.

This is mostly just a rehash of what I've said on discord for those that aren't on the discord but, here we go -

So the current plan is to finish the filler quest. I've got the following scenes to complete for it, and will likely add some additional Vehlis ones too.

Soldier events:
3b - done
4a
4b
4c

Ba'ashi events:
1a
1b
1c
2a
2b
3a

The tracker (me updating when I do a thing) is on discord.

After this, I'll finish the last patron vote winner we had in story form. I've already discussed this with the winner and the general agreement between us was that it's better to conclude that in some way than not at all. It may be adjusted slightly from the original prompt to better accommodate the different medium.

After that, there's some non-definitive ideas for a spinoff still set in KoD. The majority of feedback received was a strong preference for remaining in this world and not doing something completely different, and I share that preference as well. I've asked a couple of artist friends and they've expressed interest. There's a possibility of doing a written only thing as well, though the preference from everyone did very solidly lie with inclusion of an artist.

Either way, nothing after the filler + poll completion is definitive. I just want to lay out what we're thinking, what's possible, etc. I (Monsinne) currently cannot actually log on to the patreon. I have one of those fancy variable IPs and Nomo has the email for login verifications, not me. Nds is currently the posting-relay-guy.

I recommend hopping on the discord server if possible, even if just to mute it and keep the KoD channel pings open - it's where I'm putting updates and thoughts before getting Nds to relay here on patreon. Thanks everyone.

I'm not sure what is wrong with me, but I just can't get into Sierra's writing own its own. In collaborations, I like it - but when I go to the source, it doesn't grip me.
Anyway, since KoD is dead, any other games that do the elf x orc corruption theme well?

Could someone tldr the drama? I was just checking the page after 3-4 years and the game is dead?
Sierra left and there was no spiritual successor for her writing. The new writer had a very special style off writing and he just wrote smutty stuff and tried to make it fit somehow.

And the artist was sloppy and shadowed out, like you see a change in style

Damn that sucks. Though maybe it's for the best, I do remember that updates were just nothingburguers, now everyone will move on from this.

Artist and lead dev actually has been MIA for like a year now. As in, literally not even the other devs have been able to get in contact with him. The other devs kept it a secret from the patrons for most of that time, only recently disclosing it to the patrons after they couldn't fake another update without new art assets.

The new writer is gonna just release whatever work they have finished and finally shutdown the project for good.
