The game updates sometimes very often that it's hard for the thread to stay updated. Which then also makes it so not many people are sharing the new versions and then use the report function on the first post while including a link to the new version.
Looking at the change-logs for versions after 5.4.0 the changes are very minor or small bug-fixes so your fine to play using the current version and you won't be missing out on anything really except some clothing which you'll get when you update later down the line.

yinyisen my best guess if your not planing to 'upgrade' to windows 10/11 is to use an virtual machine to run an windows 10/11 environment. (if that will even work)

MinuanoAdyssian Nono I'm meaning don't wait for the update here as it's unlikely that the updates will get posted/linked here unless it's an significant update like 5.4 was (look at it's changelogs) so it's better to download 5.4 from the first post currently than waiting possibly months for the next significant update. The updates in between are usually bugfixes, one or two clothing additions or some balance change....rarely is it ever an new feature or anything like that.

Plus if you play now you'll be able to at least know somewhat how the game works and such when you return to it later on along with possibly having an relatively good save. (especially if you get one run done)

The current linked version is bad though. The x64 one is v5.4.30 which has quite a few bugs which is where the nightly update for v5.4.32 came out that addressed the major bugs. Realistically with all these updates I would recommend just buying the game it is $10 and you get all the updates. I believe you can also pay for things to be added to the game not 100% sure though

i see no "grope", "sexual harassment", "rape" tags... in a bdsm game... so is it purely a bdsm game without any sexual encounters or am i missing something? it might as well have "no sexual content" tag then lol.
