Have you tried Shadows of Ambition? I see it's on your watch list. I played it, but am curious what you think so far
All the games on the watch list have been played, most of them will be removed with a review in there next update.

I like Shadows, there's not much to said at the moment, which is why it's still there. The story is yet to get going. The art is okay for what it is. Really well done for AI. Barely notice any errors.

I won't lie, I am iffy about these AI 2D games, there are flying out at the minute and 3 of the 4 on the watchlist are these kind of games. I don't think I'll be continuing to play them all going forward, but shadows is a strong contender to be continued

Yeah I agree with you on that. So far every update has been trending in a positive direction, (At least for me). It's definitely a slow burner, but at least there seems to be a deeper story to tell based on the ending from Chapter 3.

I've noticed a lot of those games coming out, mainly the phone ones, which are basically all the same. There's very few actual good written VN's though. I usually have a quick look at the preview pictures and if I see 6 fingers or artifacts everywhere, then I decide it's just a low effort game and not worth my time. Mila AI, Moonripple, MNGF and Shadows all seem to have good quality control and attention to detail, with well written storylines so far. Funnily enough, the best AI games are the ones with the most amount of human intervention haha

Mila is great, but, I don't like how the Dev is focusing on one path at a time. I have no real interest in the cheating path, which is the one the dev seems to be building at the moment. I'm much more interested in the Hot Wife, so until that one continues in some capacity I doubt that'll continue

Moonripple is an even more of a slow burn than Shadows. I'm not even sure if that game knows what it wants to be. I do like the little mystery element to the town that is sorta at least trying to bring some plot to an NTR game (something most are lacking) but it's just not gone anywhere in the few updates we have got, so unless this picks up speed I doubt that one will continue

Shadows, it is so far ultimately lacking any plot. Though the frigid gf coming out of the shell has been done numerous times this one is handling it well so far. I can see it getting to a cock of the week situation, but with the new job I the newest update, there's a bit of potential there at least for the bloke so that has the most potential.

Out of the phone games I'd say NETORASE PHONE is the best of them, but that's only because it's the longest. It is slowly losing it way though. My problem with these phone type games is they're too easy and I don't mean that in terms of gameplay. I just mean when you're portraying a cuck type relationship, it's easier to explain things with the sms style these games bring. These type of games would be much told better from the womans point of view, in that we can read her messages to the bull, we can select how much to tease the Cuck and also we could add a "tinder style" app for the girl to go searching. No one is willing to take that risk though, as female protagonist games seem to be a taboo

Well I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in the future with these games, happy new year!

Origin Story by JDOR reviewed at Version 0.5.0

Story - I want to say this story is unique, however, when I was a few hours in I was suddenly reminded of some terrible YouTube adverts that seemed to sell a similar premise. As to if it's been done in AVN before, I do think it's one of a kind. Anyway... here we find a powerless MC in a world of superpowered beings. He was shunned for his normalness, getting nowhere in life because of it. We join our MC shortly before he and one of his best friends are about to fulfill a pact, what happens next sets us up for a great premise of a game, underlined with a bit of comedy, a mystery, and superpowers.

Renders - Very good. all characters look different in all shapes and sizes. bar one character everything seems to be in good proportion and doesn't look outrageous. The environments are great, not overly saturated, and superbly lit. It feels quite professionally done

Characters - Plenty here from all walks of life, varying from Blondes to brunettes, busty and flat-chested. You will probably find some overlapping tastes with your own here. I feel character development is lacking, though some characters get a date and an interview. but others not so much... that might be because we are only up to chapter 5. I won't go into much for spoiler reasons, but one character just wakes up one day and decides to be a nymph a total 180 from what she was feeling before, it feels a bit like porn logic, but it's not totally out of place when you use what history she has and reach a little... There is definitely some mystery to our characters though, but I do think some are just there for porn reasons.

Overall - This is a very interesting game, and certainly has some massive potential. It's not exactly a slow burn, but considering we are slowly building a harem, to have one or two lewds per update, it does feel like things are held back for later reasons. The story seems to be absolutely solid and well thought out. For now it is definitely nothing but a porn game though, although the foundations have been laid, there is no clear destination and I can't help but feel a threat needs to be added soon to keep interested

Harmony Heaven by respirit - First Impressions at Chapter 1 0.6

There is simply not enough of this game to warrant a full review, so I've decided to do a very basic overview of my impressions based on limited game we have...

The potential this game has is massive, we so far are getting a very slow burn into the premise of this game. It looks as if we are getting the standard Loyal, Cheating and Hot wife path these type of games are known for. Our main couple thus far have no real reason to have wandering eyes so to speak, they are after all a happily married couple having a fresh start in a new town - so it does feel slightly out of place to have the option to spy on your step mum. i do hope we get genuine reasons why out couple begin the NTR/NTS journey

The game is beautifully presented, all renders are done to a quality standard and we have a wide veritiy of characters to get know. There has been no real character development for them though, and at this early stage we know little to nothing about them, which again, makes there motivation to enter this world feel a little forced.

The STAT system is great, clearly made with an actions having consequences view. its nice that the individual STAT isn't just increased by an action and the others decrease as well. It will really help define the paths and make multiple play throughs good

So far this is a solid start, but with such a sensitive subject, it easy to lose your way and put things in for the sake of putting things in. Its definitely one to watch and look forward to seeing where it goes.

With Eyes Closed by Ker, Reviewed Season 1 chapters 1 - 5

Story - So Batman Arkham City, without the actual Super Heroes or Supervillains. In all honesty, the story here is fantastic, though, as demonstrated with my opening, a no-means new and fresh idea. it's simplistically done and very interesting. Here we have a guy who wakes up in the boot (yes I am still British) of a car with no memory, no idea how he got there, no clue where to go and that's just the beginning. what happens next is hard to say. simply because when the developer says "Players control the development of the story." they mean it. There is so many branches here. They do ultimately lead to the same place, but still it's nice to have different journey options.

Renders - Our character are beautiful, they are rendered to almost perfection. Attention to detail seems second to none. all our Love interest have really striking features, are wonderfully proportioned and no body looksout of place. Given the nature of the story, I found some of the environments a bit unbelievable, but even then they are still stunning. there doesn't seem to be any graphical flaw here at all.

Characters - There is quite a variety of characters here and we know nothing about any of them. in terms of character building, calling this a slow burn would be exaggerating. every character has an air of mystery behind them, and everyone is hiding some sort of secret, why that is, well we are not quite there in terms of plot, but it's certainly engaging. The good news is there is actually some character development, as we start to chip away at them and get closer, they do open up to us, but due to the nature of the game, we are never quite sure if it's enough.

Minigames - Though not technically a mini-game, we do have QTE's in play. You cant turn them off but you do have the choice between standard or easy. They are not too strenuous, to be honest, so far it's just a case of pressing the right key in time, rather than a series of keys. I did a quick check to see what happens if you fail them, and it doesn't seem too punishing, just another branch on our ever-growing story

Overall - This is a weird one for me, I will hold my hands up, there are games out there with better stories, there are games out there with better writing, there are games out there that would perhaps put in an actual fighting mechanic than the QTE system it has. That being said, it's a game that is clearly better than the sum of its parts... that is to say, while it certainly isn't the best or amazing at what it does. it doesn't do anything that is bad and that's enough. The chapters are well thought out and are paced beautifully, each ending with a cliffhanger that will keep you engaged enough to want to play. The lewds are not rushed and are not overdone, so far each one of them doesn't seem out of place and does actually seem natural.
Very interested to see where this goes, however, I feel some questions need to be answered soon, the original mystery may be strong enough to carry the whole game, but the littler questions that have been posed since are not and should be answered for the sake of the plot

Boxed In by badbod - Reviewed at Version 0.3

Story - What can I say, a man suddenly wakes up and finds himself locked in a strange room with another woman. They are soon given a task to do, with the promise they will be let out of the room upon completion. Rinse and repeat. I won't go into too much detail for spoiler reasons, but there is an underlying story here and a bit of a mystery... though looking at the tags, it's pretty easy to guess where it's going.

Renders - We shall tackle the environment first, due to the nature of the game, they are pretty much all the same. They do not exactly copy/paste as the story does dictate there be at least some uniqueness to the rooms in one way or another, but they feel cookie-cutterish. As for the characters, they've been rendered well, there's so far no over-the-top girls and they all seem very believable. Id say the renders are a bit over-saturated, but that might just be the nature of the game

Characters - So far we have met 6 females and the main character, there's a little bit of growth here and there for the characters. And a bit of back story told here and there. Though the characters are definitely not dictating the story and its definitely the other way round

Overall - For such a basic concept of a game, it's somewhat executed well. It does seem to start off quite dark but soon lightens up. The darkness may come back, but I am highly sceptical of that, there are a few choices in the game and they are just there for content reasons only, there is no punishment for choosing wrong and it can be argued there is definitely a wrong choice with some of them. at the cusp of it, this knows it's a porn game and is delivering on that premise. I don't know if the sexual escape room has been done before, so it is hard for me to comment further on that, but one aspect of it certainly has been done to death and has been done better. never the less the two concepts do seem to work well, I'm in no rush to play update, but will certainly it a try as and when I come across it.

Rock the Rim by RWA Studios - FIrst impressions at S1 - Ep.1 Part1

On first impressions, this game is a bit weird and I am really conflicted on what to think.

Presentation-wise, it's beautiful. the renders are absolutely stunning. The game also throws characters at you at a breathtaking pace. It does seem a bit overwhelming. Every single character in this game would not look out of place on the cover of Vogue and that seems a little weird... there don't seem to be any average-looking people, they are ALL on top end of the scale and when you are throwing girls at us left right and centre it is really hard to pinpoint one you like and keep track of

The writing is also tricky, I get the feeling that English is not the dev's first language. for example, there was a scene in which the coach, who is clearly shown as a woman was referred to as a "he" among a few other mistakes like this. I also found it a chore to actually get through in the early stages, like we were reaching for something but not quite getting there. It's like the Dev seems to have a goal he'd like to get to, but doesn't want to get there too fast, as a result, the story feels like it has filler here and there forcing the slow burn.

This is especially obvious with the adopted sister who clearly has feelings for our MC yet just teases him rather than acts, yet we have other characters who have no problems jumping the MC at all. It was the first chapter or rather part 1 of chapter 1 and there needs to be a bit of setup, but I'm not sure it quite works at the moment.

I'll have to see what comes of this one as at the moment I am so lost on it.

Pale Carnations by Mutt & Jeff - Reviewed at Chapter 4 - Update 5

Story - So here we have a medical student, who is introduced into the seedy world of a club, underlined with Sex, Money by entering employment in the Carnation Club. His task is a simple one. Huide and support the 3 newest girls to the club ensuring they give the performances of a lifetime on their way to winning the grand prize. In the skin of it, it's the perfect plot for an AVN. There are plenty of opportunities for Lewds, done in a meaningful believable manner, but when you add the mystery of what's going on in the backroom, the questions of the character's motivation...

Presentation - The character designs here aren't the norm for this kind of game. It's somewhere between a DAZZ3D render and Hand-drawn art. It can take a bit of getting used to if you are used to seeing the fully 3D models like in other games as sometimes the do feel a little flat. But I'd argue it works here, every single character is distinctive and they come in all shapes and sizes, even the characters that have exaggerated features seem to work better here than they would elsewhere. Environments are beautifully presented, and despite the overall game being about activities in the Carnation Club, there's actually a variety of environments, helping keep things feeling fresh.

Characters - We have plenty, there's our three main girls who the story tells us to look after. They all have their paths, and as you follow them their motivations for joining the little game become more obvious. The growth is not exactly slow, but it goes at a pace that works well with the story. There are the Management of the Club each with an air of mystery. There are times to get to know each of them and there is a Trust stat with the lot. with each having separate motivations, it's fun to appeal to each of them as you delve into the mysteries. Finally, our MC, his development is fantastic, as the story goes on and his back story is developed, bringing his history and trauma into the fold, it becomes apparent what kind of man he is, showing us why he belongs in this world despite his initial objections.

Overall
This is a game that knows exactly what it is and isn't afraid to shy away from what some might consider sensitive subjects. While it's not as dark as some games out there, it's not exactly in the light waving its hands saying look at me. Ultimately though, this is a game about gaining power, using that power to corrupt and then fulfilling desires and although at some point there is a bit of porn logic and suspension of disbelief, I found there to be more logical steps than none logical. While the writing is well above average, it is written with its core mandate in mind... that is to say, the story is just there to deliver the porn and kinks, it adds a few nice little mysteries here and there to keep the player engaged just enough if the kinks aren't doing that already. I don't think I'll play this as and when updates come out, but if I get some spare time in my schedule, it's definitely up for consideration.

Acceptable 7/10

It Was Raining That Night by VeronicaPerv - Reviewed at Version 0.9

Story—The premise here started off well. Here, we have a general dogsbody in the world of gangsters. Through various actions, he had to leave his previous family and join a new one, perhaps at the wrong time. A series of events later, that actually seem to have no bearing on each other, suddenly all tie together very conveniently and set the story up thereafter. It's all over the place, not very well written, and fails to hold any suspense.

Renders - They are probably the most defining feature of the game, out of everything else discussed in the review, they are by far the standout. Most if not all of the characters are beautiful and all are varied. There are only one or two characters with oversized chests, which causes weirdness to their outfits. But most do have big tits. The environments are rendered okay, the lighting is good on most if not all of the scenes, however, there is nothing really stands out about them

Characters - They are all weird, Nobody behaves how you would expect a normal human being to. They all develop a strange obsession with the MC and a godly pace. The behaviour of one of the characters, in particular, screams a red flag, but it's important to the story that that relationship develops fast, so suspension of disbelief is needed there. The Dev does try to insert some history into some of our characters, but it's not gripping enough, as it throws characters at you left right and centre it's really hard to feel attached to any of them.

Overall - This game started with such a bang, It isn't exactly breakneck speed, but it seems that rather than building and having a sensible plot, we need to get to the meat of it ASAP, but once we get there, as nothing has been earnt it's like it loses its way and has to force all the rest. It's not relying on Porn Logic, just a lot of the suspension of disbelief. It also becomes painfully obvious where this game is going, the lack of choice and the throwing of girls left, right and centre tells you what kind of game this is going to be. It's a shame, cause the premise here is a good one, it's just been really mishandled. A bit of a shame really

Heaven's Door by AlterWorlds - First Impressions at Chapter 1

WOW, what a visually stunning game we have here. Everything—and I mean everything—is just gorgeous. First, the nightclub, where a lot of this chapter takes place. It looks phenomenal, not just in terms of the way it is actually rendered but also in terms of how it is saturated. The dev manages to give the impression we are in a dark club yet allows us to see it without any issues. The girls are stunning and given their profession, they should be. I don't know if we have even seen them all yet, so my views on this might change, but they are all rendered perfectly, there are girls with oversized arses, some with oversize tits, some with a mix of both, but it never takes the piss and its just a breath of fresh air.

Obviously, it's just a single-chapter game at the moment so we can't expect much, it's there to introduce us to the girls and the MC... But as a foundation for where this can go, it's a pretty strong start. nothing is really rushed, even the lewds we get seem fitting to where we are in the story and not forced. everything flows well so far and the cliffhanger we got seems an appropriate time to end.

the characters are interesting, in this chapter alone we are introduced to several characters. and while our main guy suffers from MC bias (seriously all the girls are just on him for no reason other than they get a feeling) he does start with a little mystery, some of it resolved by chapter end. The three girls we have so far really been introduced too all get development. It's great to see in this one chapter alone that we have had more character development than some games give in the entire playthrough.

My only concern is the game does seem to be throwing girls at you. I mean even if you decide the first girl that approaches you isn't your type she still sits with you and then the next two you don't get a choice in either - you do get a choice with the 4th - but given where the story ends I do understand why it has to be the three. it's not a simple case of just swapping out a model for the 4th girl and we can't have the option you'd turn down everyone.

For what it is though, I'd say this is a solid start, there is enough intrigue, enough mystery and enough characterisation, there is also what can be considered a sensitive subject touched upon at the start, which might suggest this will have some dark themes. I don't think I got enoughof this playthrough to make a fair judgement, but am definitely looking forward to chapter 2 and seeing if my interest piques a bit more

There are a couple of girls we've had previews for but not yet met, at least one of whom is a stripper. Not all LIs will be strippers, but that could end up just being one who is not, so I won't take that comment to mean we'll get more girls introduced - we get plenty enough at the club. I'd be interested to see if Coral is a dancer though - not my area of expertise, but I don't know if the bartender would get a stage name if she doesn't get on the stage...

Oh I've not seen the previews, I've not touched the first game, so didn't really follow this game as you did. But even still there were strippers at the club who didn't come and join us on our "throne" so by that logic there are still strippers to be "introduced" to us and given where the MC ends up, Id say there are a few characters in that location that we are yet to meet.

Given the set up of the game I have absolutely no issues with the LIs all being strippers. My only concern was even though it gives you the option to tell Sky she is not your type - the game still forces her upon you. But as I said... it's pretty important that our MC ends up at a certain place with some strippers in toe, If you'd have sent them all away that wouldn't have happened. So I can give the Fake Choice a pass.

Erm, I wouldn't say its my expertise either, but it is normal for the bartender to get a "stage name" you have to remember, in terms of what happens at the club - the whole thing is a stage and by that I mean the girls are always giving a performance in some way shape or form (well maybe not always Mika, Patricia and Nikki do like to get into normal mode around the MC) In Corals term she would be performing on the stage that is the customer's feet, encouraging them to buy drinks, reminding them they can buy the ridiculous over the top priced premium staff only drinks.

Hard to Love by Qori Gaming - reviewed at V0.23(remake)

Story - Its hard to say what the story actually is, there's loads of time jumps and the first two chapters are told by Flashbacks, narratively speaking its all over the place. It seems we are following a man who for some reason has shit after shit after shit happened to him. His first loves leaves him shortly after giving birth, which leads him to join the police to find her, which leads him to his second love, which leads him to some trouble with the Yakuza which brings us to the present day - 4 chapters in and Im still at a loss to what the actual narrative is. There is a hint of something happening behind the scenes, but so far its just been character flirting and flashbacks. The first few chapters seem like they could have been spread further over the game as character deposition and let the actual story build more naturally than just thrown at us the way they do. They re so out of place

Renders - Its difficult to be fair here, the models have been run through some AI filters and sometimes they do cross into the uncanny valley, sometimes they look absolutely amazing. There is an overabundance of massive chests here and this is one place the filter works I think. None of the chests looks like the usual "bolt-on" and we seem to get free-hanging clothes rather than the weirdly tight-fitting ones. The environments are lit well, and there are a few cases of over-saturation, but these tend to happen in the scenes that are in a darker environment

Characters - Well we have a mixed bag here, and I feel the writing doesn't do any of them justice. the only one with any real development is the MC's sister who has was present in the first chapter flashbacks She has some real resentment towards her mother, which might explain her behaviour toward her brother and why she looks the way she does after things catch up. MC's cop friend got a little development, but other than the fact she's bisexual and enjoys teasing our MC that is all I could tell you. We have a mean sister, who has yet to display why she behaves the way she does, we have the MC daughter, who despite never having her father in her life displays strange signs of jealousy rather than resentment and we have a strange friend of the sister, who I can't tell is actually playing up her stupidity for reasons or not.

Overall - This game is paced all wrong, simply put it knows its destination, but it is not quite sure about the journey it should take to get there and isn't afraid to take detours - For example, because we are given the background of everything in the first two chapters, rather than it be sparingly given to us throughout the game, the mystery is lacking. It's like the dev didn't know how to spoon-feed us this information, but understood we needed it anyway. Most if not all of our outcomes seem forced and we are just there because we need to be. As a result, it felt like a bit of a chore to even get through this one and was less than enjoyable. I will revisit this in the future, but I need a bit more meat on the bones as despite being a four-chapter game, there's nothing worthwhile here.

Below Average 4/10

Bare Witness by AlterWorlds

Story - AlterWorlds has woven multiple threads into this narrative to tell a simple story. On the face of it, you might think this is some standard college-type AVN, how wrong you'd be. School takes a back seat. Instead, it's just a story of a bloke who finds himself surrounded by beautiful women and the growing of relationships. Despite there being a background plot as to why our MC is in the position he is in, it really doesn't come to the forefront until the last chapters.

Renders - All renders are good, Some characters seem to be given more detail and love than others, but here we have many girls of all shapes and sizes, and there are a few that might not be everybody's cup of tea. Overall I can't complain about their quality. Especially as you play through the game and the quality gets better, there is a clear effort from the dev to improve.

Characters - As I said previously, the characters developing relationships are the actual bread and butter of this story. Every chapter is filled with character development from some point, whether it's the journey of a body-conscious cousin, A girl struggling with a relationship end, the slow understanding of your lesbian roommates and more. I won't lie and say it's great character development. Some motivations are questionable, and I am yet to understand why the characters are ready to jump on our MC so quickly. Even setting aside the "porn logic" it is fun to get to know them, some more than others, I will say.

Overall - The narrative feels a little messy, while it's not the worst out there, there are certainly a lot better. I feel this is more prominent when trying to juggle multiple paths. For example, I actually broke up with Mora twice, when the choice came to pick a girl. I will say I have been through it 6 times, once trying to take in everything then the remaining five, just focusing on one girl and while the one girl is enjoyable, the game does seem to like to throw girls at you still. There is definitely a pacing issue, things seem to be thrown at you in the beginning before we get a nice middle and I won't say a rushed end, but some of them just don't feel natural. ,I will say, for the length of the game and the replayable factor, it's quite a worthwhile game nothing extraordinary by any means, but its well worth a try.

Acceptable 7/10
