Just finished the update yesterday, and i found it overall good but dissapointing. The story generally moved forward with new elements of mystery and new questionning. I liked that you had to be friendly in general with everyone to open LI routes, it changes the pace from ignoring everyone for single LIs path in most games. If i understood correctly, it should have around 4 chapters left. I saw that you can lock paths with 3 girls this chapter. I tought it was pretty early, but it is what it is.
Is Emmeline really John's sister, or could the government not have stored the orc's dna correctly and messed up on purpose, or did Emmeline's dad also bang the John's crackhead mom. John seems decently older than Emmeline, so maybe it was before he married, who knows. The game had the oncest tag, so it may also be true. So, what does it means for poor Colleen? John met her like twice, and finds out she went from a sister to nothing. The senator and aide seemed to know a lot and even now, are they still screwing with John, or do they also knows his real dad and prefer the story of the dead one that having him dig in files to prove his real dad's innocence?
The dissapointing part for me was Malena. She is my main girl, but she lost a lot of respect for me this update. The gym thing was stupid and messed up. Yes, training at the same gym as your best friends rapist for who knows how long, thats messed up, and NO, "i like this gym" is not an excuse. She basically told us she prefers her gym to her best friend and thats shitty. Really shitty. She could easily have been: i found out he uses this gym, and i joined and was planning on breaking his leg to permanently end his carrer soon, or chop his dick, for example and then you convince her not to. Also, after the whole sequence is an earlier chapter about if a murderer can be rehabilited (that you must say yes to gain point with her, as she talks about herself), then she goes and loses her shit after John say he would like to meet his dad to try and see if he can be rehabilitated, but just because he put her best friends dad in jail, the same friend which she put below her gym in her priorities. I could excuse the tentacle fantasy weird sex scene, but i decided to start a new game with Jamie after that. She's not my no1 anymore. Ma told me to not stick my dick in crazy and i didnt listen, guess she was right.
So, i tried the Jamie path, and in the end, that also was a dissapointment. I tought we were getting closer and that she was getting the memo the relationship was changing after inviting her to dinner and all the extra stuff with did and shared with her that we werent previously, but then she gets that job offer, and decide to accept regardless of your points and without asking/confirming one last time their relationship status, and proceed to decline your kiss and abandon you like all the other girls John was with. And the way i read it, i think she well knew her chances were improving. And so down goes the second and only other girl i liked. I know the story is gonna be written that something will happen to reunite the slowburn, but after that move, for me it would have been over here and there with minimum future contacts. I guess ill go back to my Malena save next update and hope she redeems herself, as it probably gonna happen faster than Jamie.
Usually i would wait impatiently for the next update, and will totally play it when its released, but im not really in a hurry for the next chapter as this one left a sour note.
