Edit: Now that the secret's out, I can share that Selebus has once changed his plot because of what we said here. He was like "oh, I like that idea better". But you'll never guess what it was.

You red pathers are odd... you know Selly will punish you later right? Stomachache was painful the first time around but it loses its impact after a few replays, and we've already seen signs of how it's important to both Io and Akira's growth and their relationship... just suck it up and move past it, the green path is the true story, embrace it, experience it in full or what are you doing here? Good stories are worth the emotional price.
How many times did you replay Stomachache?

I've thought of this game for a while as "sticking our nose in it" like once was done with dogs that piss on the carpet(since widely abandoned due to the shortcomings of negative reinforcement on dogs): We played the game because we saw something we liked. We stuck with it through the deviant behavior and pain inflicted on the characters. In the end, the true "red path" ending is to turn off the game as instructed. That is the only way to stop further pain. To me, the choice in stomachache is somewhat of a rhetorical question: "Are you kidding yourself into thinking you can draw the line here after all you've done?" Instead, push through. See the results of Sensei's actions(predation) when followed through to their realistic conclusions(suffering and shame).

I am reminded of something someone posted here about a Russian phrase that translated roughly to "glass eater" that I believe was a phrase for someone that enjoys the pain of sadness. Grow. Eat the glass.

Don't get me wrong I still made sure to experience Stomachache in it's entirety and I think it's an amazingly well-done scene. I just stubbornly refuse to accept that it will somehow be "better" for her and Sensei's growth in the long run. I'm looking forward to being proven wrong, but this is my gut instinct and the path I chose to stick with.

I also just don't put that much stock into the whole red path/green path thing personally. At some point I plan on replaying the game and making a true green path anyways but for now I will bask in my so-called ignorant bliss.

Yeah. That.

I'm not against using URM at some future point to switch to green path. But I have no interest in making that choice unless and until Sel starts using it as a flag to shut us out of events.

Watched Stomachache once. Not going there again, thanks.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel. Given the format we know the game will be taking (harem>dark>purity>true) I feel like at worst it'll just red strike an io event or two and not really have any impact on where her story or the story as a whole ends up - and I'm not sure there'll be any events struck since you'd kind of expect it to have happened in the immediate aftermath and instead you pick up with her at the exact same point.

And as far as that goes I prefer Io's vibe taking the red route to the green so far. Her realising it was possible for someone you love to not rape you was touching in a very depressing way lol I've still done both just to be safe but it's not something I'm gonna revisit on repeat playthroughs unless/until I get a good reason to.

How far are we from inviting Uta over sexually, so we can pat her like the horny bitch good girl that she is?
I can't imagine it's too long before she starts being willing to do stuff with him just to make him happy to be honest.
That's a big part of the growth between them that Bingoogus mentioned recently, I think it's during the event where she comes over to play games with you.

That's actually the point in Times New Roman's stay in the room ending. We're past the point of stopping the game because of the pain you're feeling. It's even mentioned in either 0.47 or 0.48, the game is over trying to stop you playing it. At this point you're going to the end.

The way it's being written it's going to be a long time before you miss an event due to that choice, I imagine the first time will be when Uta finds out about Stomachache. But the end result of the choice is already in the game thanks to 1997 PC Classic, Theme Hospital. Red path Io stays blissfully ignorant just like the stomachache red pathers, making a false idol of Akira in the process. Green path Io is actively trying to grow past her trauma, and received some positive reinforcement with Akira shutting down the handjob.

Red path Io is the one that's going to be abandoned because she doesn't want to move on, green path Io is the one that makes the cuck chair and is actively trying to get over her problems (though I doubt that's happening on main timeline. She'll have lust grinding before dark route. TBD if she'd be doing it for Akiras sake or if she'll genuinely start enjoying sex)

Not dwelling on that sardonic "rhetorical question" which is a very dangerous tendency of thoughts by itself being letting past dictate your present action and surrending yourself to the so called "realistic" (defined by whom?) conclusions - This too is human—being ashamed of one’s imperfection. Yes, Akira pretended to be better than he really was. But as the ability to dissimulate coexists with the aspiration to overcome such dissimulation, there was hope in forging a new relationship with Io here. And the very logic that sex or anything one do would fix others is wrong.

Anyway, I think the way you linked "red path" with previous warning that the game should be shutted off is quite an arbitary statement. As in, persuading you to turn off the game as instructed is not a kind gesture whatsoever, quite the opposite, it's said by Pareidolia to throughoutly eliminate identity of Akira and seize the control. And he finally took it by force at the end of Chapter 3.

And let me remind you, he's the one stayed with Sekai to come up with idea that having intercourse with Io and consistently asked Akira to accept his status quo. Oh and he even prophesized the choice we had. Don't think this might be a bit too contrieved and convenient? Once again we might fell into another predestined sacrophague (of our own, since gods are in his head) through our own verbal careless.
