Are these unlockable images actually events that have or will happen ingame or are they just bonus pictures?

Yes! Dates are a bit more complex to make and I intend to bring them in the April update, which will include all the sexual scenes — I thought it would be more natural for them to come after the date. So, to answer both questions, in this update there is still no way to go on dates, but they can be repeated in both VN and Sandbox, for all Gamemodes.

They don't happen in in-game events yet, but they will. Of course, respecting each Gamemode condition.
Using the first photo of Emily's Special as an example:
She will be unlocked in the third week (VN mode) after the math class with Emily or progressing in her story (Sandbox mode).
In Solo/Harem, Emily and MC will have a more intimate moment in the back of the room, where she will masturbate him hidden.
In Hardcore/NTR, she will do this with Ryan and the MC will see it.
In Normal mode, this will depend on the player's choices on pool day (which will come in the next update)

Yes, in Hardcore Mode, you will be able to have a relationship with them and develop deep feelings, but they will follow their desires and the guys will act behind your back or in front of you, as is the case with the MC's father, Ryan, etc.

I swear I recall and game that was similar to this, but it had some blue haired girl as one of the main ones. I wanna say a cousin or childhood friend and you could choose who wound up doing stuff with who. I think there was a hottub scene, if anyone knows what im talking about plz let me know so I dont feel crazy XD I swear half the time I recall games that dont seem to exist lol

As the idiot I am I certainly tried for minutes until I gave up and looked into wether sliding puzzles are always solveable, and look here it was one of those. While rolling back can be an option or loading a save (if you remember to make some

I would like to add that the rest of the game is well made and doesn't seem to feature the normal renpy stutters as some other games do

I really didn't know that, thank you very much for bringing it to me! To be honest, when I see that the puzzle is difficult, I actually rollback and start over. Hahah.
Ill just wait for someone with a save with eveything unlocked. I just get ejected to the main menu no matter wait before i can even go on a date with anyone.

Patch would be antithetical to the story. Sucks but Step Mom/Sis is what the dev went with as a key part of the story. Likely to avoid problems with Patreon... Dumb, silly stupid, but they're the biggest game in town, Patreon...

It will be present in version 0.8.0, with the appropriate updates. I intend to better develop the relationship of the characters involved before it happens, such as Alexis, Emily and/or Ryan.
I also want to adapt its screen, where it will be easier to skip to the end and make it more intuitive.

There is no punishment in this update. When I make the grading system, maybe there will be. I heard a good suggestion from Thenyuone where we can use Intelligence Stats to add to the grade and of course, paying attention in class will also give a slight upgrade to the grades.
I do not get it, no matter how many different playthroughs I do, with different choices, I always have like 99% of the gallery locked....

There are some pictures that are not unlockable yet, others require a specific item, but most unlock with Love or Perv points. Have you checked your status with the girls?
