It's funny you say that about the protagonist's residence as that's literally in our plans for the game! We have a working hub (in progress) at the moment where you can explore your apartment with a day and night cycle where you can interact with the rooms, items, and the 2 girls themselves. We already have an affection system built into the game that may be currently hidden in Episode 1.(should be coming with episode 2!)

I worked on this game (cant find the account info for the main login so just my norm loser user account) BUT thought id check in and seeing a few people asked or if anyone else asks YES this is basically dead (sort of.) when nearing completion of episode 2 we were doing so much with renpy it was barely running, we had a full dynamic survival system inbuilt into the needs of apartment living. this game was never meant to be just a sexy game more of a game for adults without restrictions so whatever happens happens and what happened was we bricked the engine haha.
All that said yes this version of the game IS abandoned. BUT the world itself and the ideas behind this game are still being worked on, we had to abandon Renpy as it wasn't powerful enough to do what we were asking of it. So we have been learning doing courses and studying UE5, hopefully we have something to show for it soon. We have 2 projects, 1 a long ways out which is the spiritual successor to this game, which is an open world RPG choise based dialogue monster hunting game with all the retardedness that we showed in this game. But the smaller 1 we are hoping to have some gameplay out for within the next <6 or so months is a horror game with RPG elements and dialogue based decision making, still set in this same universe but a different cast.
IF anyone is curious and wants episode 2 in its unfinished state ill upload it here. Episode 2 is much longer than episode 1 and you'll see why we had to abandon Renpy as when you get to the RPG part of the game where you can travel around your apartment freely with the survival mechanics it just ran like ASS. Just note episode 2 is missing like 20-40% of its backgrounds and animations so there's a lot of text with just placeholders and no animated characters which we really took pride in in episode 1. Anyway sorry for long post i just feel bad for going dark and thought id do a quick update 2 years later
