There is no need for Mac users to wait ever for an update. You can play the Win/Linux version directly from the SDK, or even build your own Mac version (this is the same way dev's make Mac builds) in a few minutes or less.

Mac users don't have to wait ever, you can play the Win/Linux version directly from the SDK, or you can build a Mac version from the SDK as well, building it takes a minute or two on an SSD.
