I know that it might simply be a matter of semantics, but to me there's a difference between a game that's truly abandoned - where the dev is either completely MIA or has said themselves that they're done with the project and walked away, and a game where the updates are just very slow, small and infrequent, like this one. I can absolutely understand anyone who was a Patron being upset, and no one else wanting to subscribe, but this game has been like this for years.

Have we had any indication any updates are in the works though? I'm not a sub, so I cant say - but the strong impression I've gotten on here is that he's given zero indication of any future gameplay updates, and has only kept his patreon open to trickle out a slow stream of fan-art / bonus renders.

I don't disagree with you. But this is a dev that puts out maybe one update a year typically, over the last few. It sucks, and I'd just advise anyone who wants more just to put it on the back burner and be glad if more get posted. But he is clearly still at least claiming he's working on the project, which to me meets the definition of "not abandoned".

My understanding was regardless of stated intentions, and while the "3 month rule" is only for radio silence from devs, 18 months is the span elapsed without game updates for which the label can be applied. Or so says here.

While I don't know the dates exactly, on his public-facing patreon I see "MWAS v0.13 Beta version released!" as the last post referring to actual gameplay back in 10/23.... whoops, guess that answers my own question - by that criteria it should be labeled come April of this year.

But do be clear- I say this as a public service to anyone under the impression updates are just slower but progressing - his patreon shows not a single gameplay-related update or news item in over 14 months. The frequency of updates about bonus renders makes this look worse, not better.

Man, three months seems really, really short on that one. I think a lot of my very favorite games have had much longer stretches than that.

i think that's just for TOTAL radio silence, like zero patreon sub communication, not just game releases. The dev's fallen off the face of the earth for 3 months, that kind of stuff.

There's a report button under the opening post on the first page I assume that's how. I've never actually bothered to report a game before so I'm not 100 percent sure though if that's the correctt way though.
Ok comeon let's report this game

If any DeviantWiz patrons are in this thread, are you guys asking him about how the update is coming along and when does he think it might be ready?

And if you guys aren't asking him this, why aren't you asking him this?
Also why are you still a patron of a game with no update in 15 months, what are you paying him for, his wallpaper?

Hope
excuse me,but what are you talking about?
Each of us with our own money supports the developer we want....
I for one only support the games I like even if they are not updated often.
Hope your happy with encouraging these milking devs then. So you have no problem with no update for 15 months then? And your happily paying monthly to get a wallpaper render. Pretty sure patrons can complain to Patreon that this is not what they signed up for and they can put his game on hold for false advertising for a game when all your getting is wallpaper.
And this has already happened before skippy to other milking devs trying to do this

I'm not happy I don't like reading your hate... and you? Are you happy?
you are just a thief

I replied to you ... because you opened this topic ... I would never have responded if you were talking about the story of
and it is really sad to see someone who steals other people's work for free in a pirate site encourage not to support the developers...
You are a thief who wants to encourage others to steal
does it make you happy to do this?

And why don't you mind your own business?
Is the game abandoned?

I already said to you
I support also abandoned game!

what business is it of yours to encourage others to stop supporting artists who develop games?...

I respect artists and if I like a game... I support the artist who wrote it even if the game is complete...
The game is not abandoned... so... what do you want to do?

This story is amazing and the dev deserve to be supported!
