Well, I certainly didnt see this coming. Its a fanfic VN of a show I watched as a kid, so I was keen to see how my childhood would get butchered this time round. Happily though, it doesnt, here's my review.
Let's start with the premise. Its not too dissimilar to the OG show in terms of expectation. You (largely) play as 62, another of those neutral as fuck anime MC that is mostly oblivious to the ones around him, living with three girls that very obviously want to suck his cock. Things happen, hilarity ensues, and well thats pretty much it. There's really not much else to describe the story other than harem anime remake of KND.
Characters are interesting, but there's definitely the words 'fanfic' written all over it. The main characters of sector G (your sector) is so ridiculously overpowered you got to wonder how they havent just ruled the world yet, and 62's cock must be at least ten feet long given the amount of female attentions he keeps attracting. But that said, its not a counseling session, the characters arent stuck discussing their feelings all the time, and I find myself warming to them as I finished the VN.
As for the H content, well...there isnt any. At best you get teases, there's flashes of nudity sparingly scattered around, but if youre waiting for anything more than a kiss or a pantyshot you'll go home disappointed.
Artwork is fairly faithful to the OG show. Blink twice and you might be fooled into thinking its a real spin off. I admire the attempt at copying the style of the show, and simultaneously making the girls look sexy enough so my manhood is not left disappointed.
Concluding...
Its about 5 hours long and is mostly text based but I read through every single dialogue, even the cringiest parts of the VN without skipping once, testament that its at least interesting and well written to an extant.
There is no H content but I feel the VN is better without it. Its really difficult to write a decent story with so many characters and not make it entirely about cocksucking. By removing the element, the feel of the VN is closer to its origins, and if thats what the goal is, then the VN is better without the jerking off.
4/5 stars in general because I had a nice dose of good honest fun. +1 extra because I cannot easily find any patreon exploitation, the wait between updates is acceptable, and theres no better term to describe this other than passion project, the kind that will surely impress anyone with even the slightest amount of ambition.
Fully recommend to anyone that just like cartoons back in the 90s.
Few bugbears of mine:
- The dialogue can sometimes be a bit too long winded. And when you involve multiple characters in it, it can get cringing to see them all squabble over insignificant things
- 404 needs to be toned down a little. She gets a lot of screentime and is better fleshed out than other characters, but much of her time is spent ranting and tossing her vocabulary at 100 miles an hour.
- Speaking of fleshing out. 98.6 has little to no character. Shes the closest it comes to the term marysue because she has no flaws...or in fact any personality at all.
- There's animations in this VN but its so few and far between you cant help but feel that its all misplaced effort. The fight scenes are like two pics waving around the screen with little pose changes and yet for some reason theres an animated scenes of a door being kicked and a rocket pod dropping down.
- On the fight scenes, Laura needs more battle poses. If youre gonna go over the top, then do it justice
